Pros +
- The food in the restaurant is good quality. And for the German kitchen, also exciting and tasty. The location surroundings is very nice and enjoyable.
- Location is very nice, beautiful view from the terrace, very good breakfast (truly, i dont say it often: coffee is made fresh, enough variety, cheese selection, fruit, etc) The relaxing room is nice wirh a nice view
- The marvelous old building, the pond and the swans
Cons -
- The ventilators in the room toilet and bathroom is very noisy. The staff can be quite busy, it can take a while to get a beer. Not a lot of German beer makings to choose from, mostly focused on drinks and wines.
- Not very attentive to the guests (well like in many german hotels): did not support with booking massages, so we didnt have one, etc. Selling 2 eur wine bottle for 40 eur in the bar:) not all, but there was one specifically red
- There is no air conditioner, though we happened to be there during mild wheather. The fact that they clean the rooms once in two days

The staff are spot on. Wonderful ppl and this makes the stay great. The hotel is nice for a tiny village. The food is good. The rooms are clean. I recommend it only for relaxation. The village is small and cute. I recommend u have a car to move around.
The breakfast was very nice, the rooms have a great size and the view is wonderful.
It was complicated to communicate with the waiters in English.
Staff were brilliant, and outside sitting area is lovely on a sunny day. They accommodated for gluten free dietary restrictions.
Hotel is a bit tired - bathrobes were frayed, hot tub was out of order, one of the lights in the pool needed changing, rooms are outdated. Nothing catastrophic, but begs the question of value for money.
The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!
The room was on the ground floor and was small. It was extremely noisy at night. The beds were very uncomfortable. A room that in no way lives up to the stars of the hotel. Dark and depressing!
Not a 5 stars hotel… expensive, dated and small rooms. Very old….

The lake, breakfast, and of course the spa
breakfast was really good
separated mattraces on one bed were moving a lot,one of apples in the room was rotten
location, spa area and restaurant
room was ok but dark. no view at all
The hotel is very central location of Ilsenburg with a lot of hiking and walking paths. The staff was very kind, caring and helpful. The rooms are quite large as well as clean and well equipped with any amenities.
The spa area is quite old and not renovated, actually we expected more for the worth of the money. Unfortunately during our 3rd day of stay, I was tested covid positive and we decided to drive back home not to risk anyone at the hotel where there are a lot of elderly people. The hotel told us that they could have offered a voucher for the 3rd day unless the booking would have been made through hotel's website but not from Booking.com. Therefore, we had to pay the full amount of that day (265 euro) We communicated this issue with the Booking.com by expecting a positive outcome however the customer support was informed by the hotel reception that there was no communication about the voucher at all! Considering a loyal customer of Booking.com, we were expecting that they could take some liability for the satisfaction of their customers and provide a voucher on behalf of the hotel but it seems they do not care that much either. So, therefore we have decided to minimize our activities through Booking.com and look for other alternatives as well as websites of the hotels.
Excellent location by the lakeside. The rooms were comfortable. But the absence of fans an d ACs in the room was uncomfortable in this hot weather.
Staffs are all kind and friendly, always available to the guestsTerrace is in front of lake which is gorgeous, perfect breakfast place.
Nothing to complain
Fantastic breakfast a lot of variety, very friendly staff aspecially Steffi was amazing! Room was nice and spacious as requested! Wellness and swimming pool is great!!
Missing power sockets next to the bed to charge phones. A la carte menu restaurant is overpriced. Maincourse took 1,5 hour...
Amazing food, cozy and quiet room, lovely spa - we will be back
The staff was wery kind and the room and breakfast were excellent. Right in the middle of Ilsenburg, close to the castle, closter and several hiking routes along the Ilse.
I did not like that the Spa and gym were closed and the restaurant too due to corona restrictions
Beautifully located . Excellent breakfast.
Exceptional service and excellent team - this clearly reflects caring and connected leadership ! I spent 80% of my time in hotels and was positively surprised by each and every team member encountered
Nice countryside hotel for guests who want to switch off in nature
