Nice spacious room and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We ate our evening meat there as well and it was very good. It was located on the edge of town in the forest, so quiet and peaceful

The last km the road was quite narrow, one-way traffic. Only had to pull off once for the garbage truck

We had to pay 10 euro for hot water that we wanted to take with us in a flaks.the staff didn't tell us about this extra charge.

The rooms were spacious. No Air-conditioning.very hot for the time of year we visited. Food excellent staff excellent location excellent. All in all Excellent !

A nice old hotel in the middle of the forest on a hill. Great location. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Close to the hiking trails and beautiful small towns definitely worth visiting.

There was a wedding during the time of our stay and the music played loudly till 2pm. Some staff could be much more welcoming and friendly. No AC, too hot inside. Generally we expected more for this money and description. There are better options around as we found out staying in the area.

Super comfy beds, delicious breakfast, plenty of space for kids to run around.

I'd appreciate if an email with instructions was sent in English rather than in German.

Dinner was average.

My partner and I have had a beautiful stay for a night. We came to walk and enjoy the scenery but were pleasantly surprised by the lovely location and friendly staff who looked after us. I would not hesitate to book again.

Nice location

It's very old building all furniture was old and dirty and damaged, the hotel has no air filtration system just window, in hot day it's almost impossible to sleep.Food was for old people

Our room was right above the restaurant so it was quite loud in the morning.The curtains are basically just for decoration, not dark at all.

A beautiful and very peaceful place with a great view. The breakfast was fabulous!

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, and also the pool-table. But we went to Goslar and found a nice restaurant and got to see that beautiful city, so it wasn’t that bad after all.

If only the room curtains were darker... A guy from the restaurant - bar staff was rather impolite, but the rest of the staff was nice and helpful.

Location is amazing! surrounded by nature, can go directly on to hiking, 20 minute drive to Schloss Wernigerode. Breakfast was superb, plenty of variety for all tastes and really nicely setup. We travelled with our little ones, we had a large room, separate room for the kiddies. The televisions on each room and are modern enough to be able to use any cable for us to watch our own programs. Complimentary water in room (we arrived very late, was grateful to have water to drink). Clean and very comfortable rooms, love no smoking rooms.

I had sent information when I had initially booked that we will be arriving late (I was informed that was not the case but I do have proof of this message). Just for reassurance purposes I had resent message on the day of our arrival again and got a call back right away, and received all details for our arrival (Where our keys would be at, code, room). A concerning feeling, what could have happened if I had not been proactive and re-sent information. I would suggest to the hotel to check-up on guests coming in late, check messages, send an email to customers in case of late arrival, what to do and all details. Everything was ok at the end, no issues... just some awareness.

Breakfast was ok, though not as good as it previously has been.The personnel were good, and the main compensation for other issues.A mix up the first day regarding rooms, but they managed to change to better rooms the second day.

The restaurant was pretty bad. Mediocre buffet food.The food used to be good, when the previous owners had the place.I assume the cook(s) were better then, and one could order a well-prepared meal, unlike now.This will be the reason we may not come back, and we have been there 8 times over the years. The new owner should consider this.

It’s a beautiful location nestled in the Harz National Park. Great for hiking in the woods. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. It’s a bit of a walk into the village (we had already walked 12 miles that day) so we had the dinner there. The Italian buffet is great value if you can eat a lot.

The room we were in was the no smoking section of the hotel. However the smell of cigarette smoke was very much ingrained into the room and furniture and carpet. The decor is confusing… needs a revamp to bring this location to its former glory.

Disappointing

The most important part for us was; Paid extra for at hotel with ONE big bed instead of twinbeds/two singles put together, but didnt get it. Asked for it at reception, but was'nt possible. Then why write it on the bookinginfo?!
