Hotel Bergwirt

I liked the attached restaurant which was warm and cozy. The rump steak, awesome, salmon delicious! Breakfast room was great. Very clean. Well laid out property. The tub in our room was luxurious and the shower relaxing. There was a bike path right out the door. The property had a fun, rustic decor. Plenty of parking.

Their internet was out, but not due to any fault of their's. Huge, new TV and we would have enjoyed that.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed. The location is incredibly convenient, situated close to the road, making it easy to find and perfect for travelers like me. The room was spotless—clearly well-maintained with attention to detail. It felt so comfortable and welcoming after a long day of travel.What stood out the most was the excellent communication with the hotel staff. They were friendly, professional, and responsive, ensuring all my needs were met. It made the experience even more enjoyable.I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, convenience, and exceptional service. I would definitely stay here again!

Breakfast was good. Location, proximity to the highway was very positive point. Staff were very helpful.

We were allocated a room which was having very bad smell. We have asked to change it , which was greatly done. We were disappointed by being given single beds, and matteracess appear old, in mine I had the metal spring hurting me.

It is located in a good place for our purposes

There is no AC and the temperature was in the high 90s outside and in our room. We opened the windows, but there was not much breeze, so that didn’t help, and it let in bugs. The staff seemed to always take their breaks right outside our room from early in the morning until late at night, and they were very loud. There was some kind of machine right outside our window that sounded like a jet plane taking off about once per hour. The hallways were very dark and smelled of smoke.

Herrieden is a beautiful, charming city with a lot of storks - we saw 16 storks alltogether sitting on the roof of the Basilica. Beyond the citygate there is the small river, Altmühl, with its beautiful bridge and romantic landscape. The hotel answers every need: we spent there only one night, so we didn't need much, but there were every kind of rooms (smaller, bigger, quiet, "noisy", overlooking the garden or the road), sauna and a really big breakfast area that delighted the eye. There was also a hearty buffet breakfast with everything that one could imagine.

Our room was in the building Nr. 1. on the 2nd floor, directly under the roof, and as the weather was really hot, the room was also uncomfortably warm (without air condition). There was no elevator (but it was just being developed - so it is possible that those who travel there in September 2023 or later will be able to use the elevator also). As our windows were overlooking the main road, the traffic noise was unexpectedly disturbing - who could imagine that Herrieden had so heavy traffic?

Good value, clean, convenient to Autobahn, and the restaurant personnel were courteous and accommodating to my late arrival. Plenty of free parking.

Other than the restaurant, there is nothing else, but it is geared for business travelers that just need a clean place to stay with a good restaurant.

Minor inconvenience but we asked to have a couple lights repaired in the room but that was never done. Overall our stay was excellent

The room was basic but ok and clean, but this booking was last minute and due to minimum availability, so I suppose we got what we paid for and couldn't complain for the price. Room service with fresh towels. A lovely little balcony to sit outside and admire the view. The restaurant area was nice with lovely decor. Staff were friendly and very helpful and accommodated due to late arrival. Lovely little village 15 minute walk away. Would stay again and experience a different room!

WiFi was not secure, no fridge or drinks machine in the room, but this could have been due to the type of room booked.

Very clean and practical facility. Especially for dog owners and bikers. You can go on short or long walks in nice Bavarian landscape right in front of your door. And do some MTBing on the nearby bike park for breakfast.

Check out time 10AM is a bit early.

The property located on the edge of a quiet, picturesque village, with nice views all around. The restaurant on the property had many excellent choices of beer and food. Lots of parking, nicely decorated facilities, spacious breakfast room, many delicious choices in the breakfast buffet.

Our room was the closest to the breakfast area, so we heard some noises in the morning.

Room was perfectly cleaned. Stuff is english speaking, possibility to eat supper around 22:00hrs which is not common. Great taking care of the guest.

There’s no fridge in our room and no vegan milk option at breakfast.

We were travelling from Schaffhausen to Dresden, the hotel was comfortabely located near the highway. Although there was a grand party at the hotel during the night of our stay, the staff had enough time and attention for us also. We had nice dinner in the hotel's restaurant and our room was really quiet - the sounds from the party did not reach it at all. The breakfast was also great. Definitely recommend Hotel Bergwirt.

Great breakfast, close to autobahn.Comfy clean room & we were lucky & had a room with a balcony overlooking open farmland.The hotel is a 5 minute drive to town for a choice of places to eat & there is an autohof literally a minute up the road by car that has a burger king attached.Fine for a one night stay to break up your journey.

Only one gripe, on the saturday night there were 2 wedding receptions being held in the hotel. Even though we booked a table in the restaurant on arrival for dinner we were informed that the kitchen was shut as the staff couldn't cope due to the 2 functions although we were welcome to drinks. Even though dissappointed we understood so I popped up the road to get a takeaway burger.However imagine our astonishment when at 10pm a large coach arrived, paasengers checked in & then were given a meal in the restaurant we were drinking in!
