Hotel Restaurant Zum Hollengrund

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The facilities were excellent. Nice bathroom with a really good shower with plenty of hot water. The food was fantastic, we really enjoyed our stay.

We could have done with a grab rail in the shower for support for an elderly person.

Very tired hotel. Construction replacement doors pulled up in the corridor. Carpet worn and hanging off. Bowling alley was near enough to hear.

The location was ideal for our route. Staff were were friendly.

A bit out of the way for a stopover between Bremen and Hamburg, As it was Monday ("Ruhetag") the restaurants was not open. but we found a nice place in Bremen on the way.

Spacious room. Parking onsite is easy. Breakfast is good.

The restaurant is closed by the time (Monday, 6PM) we arrive. It is not easy to find restaurant around.

Moved single beds apart but the carpet underneath was covered in dust.When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was closed on a Monday. Having travvelled for 9 hours it would have been helpful if this information was available when we booked.

We really like this hotel - it's the perfect place to take a break when driving from The Netherlands up to Denmark. It's actually in a cute area and exceeded our expectations in just about every way the first time we stayed here. Just a really pleasant little place.

Contrary to our previous stay here, the kitchen and bar was closed as the hotel staff were on holiday. We weren't aware of this beforehand and it was a little disappointing after a long drive. Also, contrary to our previous stay, we had a room in the secondary building. The rooms are all lovely but this time we were on the side of the road and the cars and trucks passing were LOUD all night long. There were also some extremely loud guests above us. So we slept poorly. Our advice - ask for a room in the main building that isn't looking out on to the road.

The staff were very welcoming and very good humoured. We enjoyed interacting with them they allowed me to use my pitiful German whilst they spoke English it was fun. Room was very comfortable. Dinner was good. There was some where safe to store our bicycles over night. We enjoyed our stay.

There was nothing to dislike.

The hotel was better than expected in terms of room and comfort. Complimentary coffee in room and bottled water. That was better than expected. Actually very much better. But do not come here on a Monday. The restaurant is closed .. the reception is manned with the Grandparents, who are not helpful ... mainly because of poor language. So when you arrive tired, you have to go by yourself to find something to eat .. nothing around .. so I ended up with a cold noodle salat from Netto .. and eating it with a teaspoon in my room. I guess everything is better on other days. The hotel is quite new and well equipped .. but for me the lacking service ruined the stay.

We were only trying to find somewhere to sleep for one night that would be reasonably close to the motorway, so we ended up here. We were lucky to find out that it's a very charming hotel with beautiful big rooms and a restaurant that serves excellent food!! Free parking infront of the building.

The only downsides I can think of were the language barrior; the staff spoke very little english if even that (only german) and the breakfast, which was not very versatile. But these were minor issues, especially the language, because the lady in the reception/restaurant was very helpful and tried her best to sort everything out.

Breakfast was traditional continental. Everything was fresh and nicely presented. Very clean dining area.

Maybe the weather?

Very nice location with lots of nature around it. I stayed here one night during my drive from Denmark to the Netherlands and they had an electrical car charger which was great. The staff at the reception was very friendly and the room was surprisingly big with a very nice view.

The breakfast was ok, but there could have been a bit more choice.

The breakfast was excellent …lots of choices and lots of food. I’m on a bicycling trip where I’m camping and staying in hostels a lot. This was a great break!

Good hotel, newly refurbished rooms, enough parking-space.

What I find very annoying, is that booking.com (prcthe hotel) does not give the information if the restaurant is open (or not) on the booked day(s). Most business-travellers, like myself, search for a hotel with a restaurant, to be finished for the day.....how much effort ti submit that info could that be, instead of having to check the hotel's website.....

Staff was very patient & helpful - especially with the fact that we were running late & needed a late check-in. It was important for us not to be turned away if we arrive too late & staff was very helpful on the phone & with our needs. Breakfast was very nice & there were very good options for a meal. The location is very calm & lovely.
