Hotel Gasthof Handewitt

The room looked exactly like in the pictures. Comfortable, big and clean. A great plus point was that the property had a play room for the kids. Unfortunately we did not have time to use it.

The restaurant was closed but this was communicated to us before hand so we were aware. We were offered to have breakfast in another restaurant but we did not have time in the end.

This is the type of hosting that I like. Gasthof with a restaurant, with nice people, but not too pushy, clean sheets and clear instructions for check in at your convenience. Kudos for a well run business!

Visited twice whilst driving between UK - Norway. It was a very easy place to stop for a night, good food for an evening or breakfast meal.

Big, quiet room, great bed, excellent breakfast, excellent food in the restaurant, very friendly and nice staff. One of the best places we visited while traveling to Sweden

What a WONDERFUL FIND! I booked while en route... arrived after dark. Other guests were also inline for check-in... a gentleman greeted us and offered us a seat and drink while we waited... the hospitality continued throughout our stay. We had two rooms in Zimmer LEO, CLEAN AND CUTE... I was a great find! And the morning breakfast, OUTSTANDING. Thank you to all the staff. Another reason to love Germany.

Practical stop-over from the Netherlands when heading for Copenhagen or the ferry in Hirtshals, Denmark.Nice kitchenette. Clean.

- Noisy road - It was a nice summer evening and unfortunately we were not allowed to dine outside on the terrace. We considered this as very customer-unfriendly especially because the person in charge of the terrace simply didn't like do to this.A bit weird as he was serving the 'wine-tub-dining tables' on this outside terrace anyhow, so he had to go outside anyway.- Two enormous big pillows, impossible to sleep on.

Delightful hotel. The staff were so lovely and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean and there was parking for my motorcycle.The hotel restaurant was excellent.

Quiet location, easy parking, wonderful breakfast and friendly staff

The area outside was pleasant and service was just ok. At dinner the service picked up.

It was a bit hard to find the check-in as you end up in the inside restaurant from the parking, I had to get the TV remote new batteries twice as it wasn't working, Minor issue, but I'd expect them to check these things in advance.

Our expectations were exceeded; we did not expect to get such a spacious room. We stayed with the three of us (2 adults and our 2-year-old daughter), and there was more than enough space. Based on the photos, we had low expectations, but they were exceeded. The breakfast buffet was also very good!

The rooms are well equipped, clean and reasonably sized for the price.The restaurant has a good menu selection and on both nights our meals were fantastic.The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.

Pleasant one night stay, good restaurant/breakfast and electric car charger (2 charging points - seems to use Monta app).

Staff could be more knowledgeable about use of the electric car charger (i.e. which apps can be used etc).

Loved the breakfast buffet. Friendly staff, great room and perfect location for our drive from UK to Norway. We will visit again.

Mich attention to details. Quality furnishing. Lovely bathroom. Excellent, attentive staff. Not much left to wish for. Pricing is upper mid range in my opinion. Not cheap but they offer quite a bit, too.

Room was quite packed. Not much space to get in and out of bed.
