The hotel lies on the Hankø island with a 3-minute ferry ride from the mainland and 9.9 mi from Frederikstad city. Since 1877, Hankø Hotell & SPA has provided accommodations in peaceful natural settings on the shores of the Oslo fjord. Each guest room has TV, free WIFI and a bathroom with shower. Suites and front rooms have balconies and guests have free use of the pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna. The hotel also has a private beach. Rooms ok, good breakfeast, ok spa facilities, nice staff
The restaurant was not open, could have been mentioned when we booked or in later comms. Expensive ferry tickets. No transport from ferry to hotel.

All the stuff from bar tender to chef and all the crew was amazing. Very hospitable people and smiles and assist you all the time. So helpful and very kind. Spa and the woman who work there was amazing and sweet. The food was fantastic . Place is peaceful and safe. The boat driver always smiling and talking to us. They speak english as well. The hotel ... No words can explain. Definitely will come back again. 500% love the place and all the people who works there.

Breakfast absolutely incredible, with wide varety and something for everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and spa was nice, and well maintained.
Very outdated rooms in poor shape, and felt things in the room haven't been updated since the 90's. Beds very uncofortable for a couple. TV was tiny, no plugs to be found for chargers, dimly lit with small lamps. Felt like everything was a significant extra charge when the room is already not cheap. Extra charges for everything like parking, ferry, pool towels, even a cup of coffee. Price of dinner was outrageous (almost 700 per person). Saunas and and spas turn off very early at 19. Finally, we arrived to a freezing room with all heaters turned off, and took hours to finaly get warm - which is a very rough first impression after traveling.
Location is good. Atmosphere great.
Christmas buffet too expensive! Not worth NOK 700 per person. Freezing rooms, heat not turned on before arrival.
