Pros +
- Lovely friendly vibes in this family run hotel. They are always happy to help and give advice on the best hikes, lakes and restaurants to visit.
- We stayed a few days in this hotel. We wnet there as a family with two small kids. The staff is extremly friendly and helpfull. You feel like part of a community as they interract with you like nowhere else. The accomodation is well located, well maintained and the garden is beautifull. I was doing paragliding for a few days . There is a landing spot ~300 meters from the house on the other side of the river. The hotel has a pool, which we used a lot with the kids. The breakfast is excellent, not a huge selection, but the one they have tastes really good. Especially the scrumbled eggs :)The rooms are clean and confy, but old style and not very spacious.
- The owners are probably the nicest people I've met in Austria. They immediately helped me out with ideas for things to do around the area and made me feel like I was at home. The breakfast was excellent with such amazing fresh baked breads and good coffee. You can sit outside in the front yard where it's very quiet and relaxing in the morning. This place has a long history from even before WW1 and you can feel how the generations put their life essence into it.It was 15 minute drive to the lake which was very helpful on my tight schedule. The whole area is very lovely too!I'm definitely coming back on my next vacation in the area.
Cons -
- That we couldn't have stayed longer!
- The only comment I have is about the dated bathroom. But I took the cheap single room and I saw the bigger rooms did look nicer!
- Nothing not to like!

A lovely family run hotel. Very friendly and welcoming with a most relaxed and quiet situation very close to the Drau cycleway and in a beautiful setting. A super, family shared evening meal on the verandah, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Lovely staff, nice swimming pool, taste dinner and breakfast, good location to visit Carinthia
We really enjoyed our stay at this (well) family-run establishment - 4th generation I was told. Firstly, were warmly welcomed upon arrival by the friendly hostess, after which she offered us a welcome drink (which was a very nice touch). The hostess is also extremely knowledgeable, and proud, of the province of Kärnten and offered a great deal of information on what to do/where to go with our daughter. A lot of information is also readily available at the information desk. The food was excellent throughout. The breakfast buffet provide sufficient options and the five course dinner menu was of a very good standard/quality. Also, my 3 year old daughter was well catered for, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The entire building has great character and allows for both indoor/outdoor (when the weather allows) dinning. The two swimming pools (hot and cold) was also very nice after a long day out in the mountains. We will definitely be back at Ferienpark Waldpension Putz
The owners are fabulous, and thanks to them I discovered the concept of hupfa - where all food and drinks locally sourced and processed!
Nothing not to like!
Our hosts Karin and Peter were fabulous. The hotel is delightful. We would highly recommend this property.
