Pros +
- Breakfast was excellent Dinner … ? Probably because Sunday evening and the true chef on leave
- Warm welcome received from Toni the celebrate chef and owner in the morning breakfast.
- Breakfast was quite good. Beds were very comfortable. Pretty good location if you want to visit the wineries in the area.
Cons -
- Dinner experience Main reason to stay but … ?
- OTT wine cellar in the village, which was recommended by Toni. Met their owner and 4th generation wine maker Bernard. Good and knowledgeable guy I love you estate.
- Room was dirty upon arrival. Hair on the floor, unemptied trash bin in bathroom. Mentioned this to reception and they said they would send someone to clean it again, but the hair was all there when I got back to the room. The you get receptionist was also quite flippant about it. While this was not a big deal and I wasn’t upset, she could have understood that in the pandemic era, things like this make you wonder about whether hygiene standards are being met. I even told them exactly where the hair was and, still, they didn’t do anything. Also, as other reviewers have said, it is ridiculous to have sheet curtains and complete visibility into the bathroom toilet. Even spouses don’t want to watch each other sit on the toilet. The toilet is also placed with no clearance on either side. Very poorly designed room and the hotel had a very cold and unwelcoming feel to it because of the design.
