Rothaus Lodge

This hotel was generally a good choice for us traveling with a 2-year old and a 3.5-year old, because of the following:- Little playing corner for kids on the second floor- Extremely friendly staff- Well furnished flat with sufficient room for luggage- Small gift when we left (for the kids as well - they absolutely loved it)- Very nice location next to a park with some wooden statues - we went there in winter and just sledged around in this park to discover the different statues under the snow, the kids loved it)

Shower with curtain around you - very poor shower experienceHotel cleaning cart placed in the playing corner during day time (there was no room anywhere else because of the tight hallway, however it was very inconvenient and even dangerous for the small ones)No heaters in the room (floor heating); it was problematic in winter because we could’t dry the wet cloths (there is a sort of “drying” room next to the lobby and the staff was very friendly and supported every night with our wet cloths, however it’s inconvenient to go there for every wet sock; a heater should be placed at least in the bathroom). We didn’t understand the hype in other reviews about the fabulous breakfast - it was just an average buffet, nothing out of the ordinary.

No tea and coffee making facilities in room.

Everything. The hotel was beautifully positioned on the edge of the forest walk to the Schlüchtsee. The room with the balcony was fabulous, staff were great, breakfast was lovely. The present of homemade jam when we were leaving was a lovely touch. The honour system for taking cold Rothaus beers as and when one wanted them was a delight.

Absolutely nothing, everything was wonderful.

Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Lots of common areas in the hotel to sit and relax. It has a nice lodge feel but is clean and modern as well. Rothaus Brewery is an easy walk.

We booked hotel last minute as it had good rating. That absolutely correct..everything was excellent, clean and modernized rooms.Breakfast was excellent..somehow eggs were tastier than any other hotels.We even got some coupons to get discounts on local attractions.All staff were very helpful and welcoming. Hotel location itself is not scenic but most attractions around the area are drivable 10-30min drive..Expecially families of 4 rooms are spacious

Great countryside location, especially nice with the snow. Good breakfast, fliendly staff. Tea/Coffee any time.

Hairdryer was missing in the room despite the room description but it wasn’t critical.

Drinks and coffee available 24/7 with cozy corners to rest in all floors. Nice breakfast with true nuts and different rooms to enjoy it.

The staff is great and very friendly and helpful. The nature surrounding the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was a blast ?. Very quite, free parking, late entrance access.

For my purposes, the location was great. For someone who wants to explore the black forest only, the hotel is in the south edge.

Location next to trails and brewery Rothaus was excellent. Parking was spacious and plentiful. Breakfast was nice.

Rooms are listed as having air conditioning on Google. This should be updated to say no air conditioning. Had we known we would have brought fans.

Fantastic hotel! We loved our room, perfect breakfast. So far its one of the best hotels we've stayed! Great place for families with kids! There is a beautiful park nearby and planty of restaurants!

Great breakfast, it is really nice for us to have the option to take our dogs along for breakfast and stay on a separate part outside the main breakfast room. They had 3 sorts of plant milks to choose from. Great!

Nothing we did not like!

Lovely hotel with kind, accommodating staff. Our suite was spacious and well appointed, with plenty of storage space as well as tables and a desk. It was great having all-day access to the shared coffee machine and the self-serve beer and wine. Breakfast was tasty and breakfast staff were friendly and solicitous. We had a very comfortable stay.

We chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews, the fact that it is pet-friendly, and its proximity to walking trails. We were not disappointed! Everything was great, from the warm and informative check-in, to the delicious breakfast, to the ease of access and parking. We stayed in the Alpenblick suite, which was huge and very clean, with lovely reviews of the Alps and a nice terrace. The breakfast had great options, even for vegetarians like us, and there is an indoor part of the breakfast area where dogs are permitted. They really go above and beyond for people traveling with pets, providing dog bowls, a towel and blanket, and a little bag of treats at check-in.

The staff was very kind and they did their best!

The breakfast wasn't very various and the location is very far away from most attractions.

High quality rooms and facilities, friendly staff, great surroundings for hiking or running : we had a wonderful stay at the lodge.
