Hotel Alpinist, Malyovitsa

The rooms were clean, spacious and well designed. I got the short straw and wasn't able to enjoy the mountain view, but the rooms facing it would present a breathtaking landscape. There is a museum of alpinism in the cafe that was very interesting to me. The hotel's location is perfect starting point for any adventure. Also one with the family. There are many trails suitable for all kinds of people that start directly from the hotel.

The price range in the restaurant is a bit high but that is expected due to the location and the nature of the resort, so in the end it is just a minor inconvenience.

We recently stayed at Hotel Malyovitsa and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to offer their help. We especially appreciated the little touches. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient place to stay. We can't wait to visit again!???

large rooms with very comfortable beds, excellent mountain views, warm and cozy environment. the hotel is very accommodating to families with children. Ski in/ski out with options to rent equipment. The mountaineering museum is an excellent idea and a very cozy cafe.

the restaurant could offer more cooked meals and less remade frozen food. The SPA facilities in hotel malyovotsa can be used for free but its not very accessible from hotel alpinist. More staff to keep the place running 24/7 would be an improvement.

Location could not be better, right in front of the ski track. The view from the lobby is fantastic - overviewing Malyovitsa peak. The museum of Alpinism is an outstanding idea!Room was quite spacious although it did not offer anything except the necessary.Food was delicious.

We did not stay at the Alpinist as they were under re-construction work. I'm sure they were aware of this work and rather than a refund they sent us to the other hotel Malyovista opposite.

The Hotel Malyovista was very good, it probably was a better choice than the Alpinist Hotel,

It is a scam

We booked a Lux room with the mountain view, but there was only a view to the parking lot with some garbage and the room itself was located on the underground floor. When we arrived, there was no receptionist - only a note that we beed to check in at another hotel located 50 m higher. Our hotel itself was empty and dark. We had to go to the breakfast also to the other hotel. We cane because of the lobby-museum, which was also closed. Construction works are undergoing everywhere. When we came to complain to the receptionist, stating that we do not receive the service promised: no receptionist, no mountain view, no lobby, dangerous not finished stairs etc., receptionist from another hotel said we should have known that Alpinist is under reconstruction! That was not indicated anywhere on Booking. The receptionist admitted that the hotel is not ready for the guest, but said they cannot do anything about it. When we asked to change the room at least, they tried to scam us by "generously" offering a room in the second hotel, where the receptionist was located. I asked what about the price and they said, that they will cover extra cost as their apology for the inconvenience. I went to booking to check the price for the room they offered and it was actually 50 euros less than we already payed for the Lux room in Alpinist. I asked if they are trying to scam us and the receptionist just said, that they forgot oir room costs more. We asked if we could at least cancel the second night in this nightmare and only after long discussions they agreed to this also stating, that they will be loosing the money for this night, as it is already taken by Booking. Which in the end was not also true as per info from Booking support. Avoid those two places. Those are the worst in Bulgaria.

Building under wip, check in, check out and breakfast to be done in another hotel near the booked one, this was not clear during the reservation. During check out the full fee was asked again even if it had been already paid

Great place, lots of fun for small kids. The nature is exceptional. The place is mostly serene.

The only downside is that there's an active construction nearby and sometimes it can be noisy. Even in the hours which are for afternoon nap.

Rooms are just renovated, very comfortable and clean. Swimming pool and spa center are very good, especially for a hotel, which is relatively high in the Rila mountain (1700m height)

The hotel has recently been renovated and is very modern and clean. We loved our time there and are already discussing going back soon.

No complains, really.

The cleaning

There were 8 power failures during one night and this was scary especially as the reception is closing at 8 PM, but the doors are open and anyone can trespass the hotel in the night. Also, the restaurant had just few options of food available which was not great.I believe the location is amazing during ski season, but since we were in a period without snow it was quite tedious.

The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was more than we could've eaten.Exceptional location, nice staff, wonderful nature, good ski instructor for the kid. Perfect for a family vacation.

We liked everything.

I liked the location, the view in front of the hotel, the comfortable beds, and the fact that the hotel has been recently renovated.

The lobby was locked, and there was no place to sit and relax. Additionally, there was no restaurant within the Hotel Alpinist itself; instead, guests were directed to use the facilities at Hotel Malyovitsa, which is located approximately 50-100 meters above Hotel Alpinist. Although our reservation indicated that the room came with a mountain view, we were disappointed to find that the view from our window only included the car parking area. When we requested a room with a mountain view, we were informed that none were available.

Perfect location with parking lot. Big room and bathroom. Starting point for many mountain trails.

They upgraded us to Hotel Malyovitsa: there everything was great! The location is perfect for hiking and the views are very nice. The hotel did a lot of effort for children with (temporary?) activitities (swimming pool, altitude trail, trampolines etc): those things were not announced while booking and I think a lot of people don't know about it - but our children found it fantastic, so I hope they continue with it - just better promote it, I guess :-)

The breakfast was very basic, but the price was rather low - so maybe we can't really complain after all about that either ;-)

It was very clean everywhere, the staff was friendly, the views were breathtaking. There is spa in the neighboring hotel that was amazing and you can also use it - they give you towels is needed. 10/10 recommend during summer
