It would not be good for people travelling on a budget.
A secluded and idyllic spot perfect for a short getaway to relax and recharge but the absolute best thing about our stay was the staff! We stayed for almost a week and every one of them was friendly, helpful and professional. We felt very well taken care of.
No complaints.
Confortable place with stunning view, nice location with plenty of hiking opportunities or kayaking. nice restaurant
Great location, good service. Swimmingpool excellent for small kids and fine dining. Great!
The restaurant is superb, exceptional food and great wine. The location is lovely with beautiful view. The staff are helpful.
The beds are very firm, too firm for our liking. No coffee/tea facility in the room.
I stayed here on a roadtrip with friends in 2018 and wanted to return, bringing my wife, to share the stunning location and sensational signature dish fricasee of morel mushrooms. Those expectations were fully met, the food is still superb, but expensive. The hotel still feels like the very traditional family owned place one might find in a 1950s film.
The room decor and furnishings are quite tired now and in need of updating. The lack of a kettle/hot drinks in the room, and lack of any morning room service was a real disappointment - we English need our morning cup of tea! Our total bill for DB&B came to over €400 so good it’s difficult to value for money, despite the stunning location and superb food.
the location is really really great. Staff is also very friendly and helpful
The restaurant used to have 3 Micheline stars but comes not even close to that rating of the past
The hotel is overlooking the valley of the Doubs, the view and the location is nice. The house is clean and there is space in the lobby if you want to spend time out of the room. The hotel has a nice terrasse and my room had a nice big balcony, unfortunately I could not enjoy those places as the wheather was too cold. The bed was comfortable.
The room was disappointing, would rate it with 2* maximum, the carpet very shabby, the curtains a bit less shabby, the style of the furniture obsolete, dating back a couple of decades, missing any charm. Unfortunately the restaurant had a closing day, so I could not have dinner in house, which is a shame, as this would maybe have upgraded my stay a lot? If this kitchen is really as good as its rewievs, then I don't understand why the hard eggs at the breakfast buffet were overcoocked, not fresh looking and cold of the fridgidaire. The SPA facilities obviously cost extra, but I don't even know if it would have been possible to book them, I have not been introduced in this point at arrival. As I spended only one night and had to go out for dinner, I was glad not to spend to much time in this place. It was just about to have a bed. There is some traffic to hear from the road under the hotel, especially arround the times when people are driving to work or coming back home.
Excellent location, very close to the Doubs and the Swiss border. Best to reserve in the restaurant as our first night we had to dine elswhere in the village. We assumed, as residents of the hotel we would automatically have a table....The food was very good and good help from the wine waiter in order to choosean appropriate wine. Our room, which was very comfortable, overlooked the village and the valley of the Doubs - wonderfully quiet and a great opportunity to view the night sky without light pollution. We would definitely return.
As stated previously, we had assumed, wrongly, that as hotel residents there would be a table for us. Do check when you book in.
We loved the location, so peaceful, the excellent restaurant and really very nice, helpful and friendly staff. Our room had a deck with lovely view over the river and valley. so peaceful and quiet. Also a great swimming pool.
The room could do with some small repairs- leaky shower etc
quiet and nice locationnice breakfast
room terrace and furnitures warn out
Very comfortable room
Our friends in room 1. Could not sleep due to what sounded like building works above!!!
We found the breakfast area to have a lovely view and what was available very satisfying indeed. The restaurant is classy and the food very good indeed. The view from the place is lovely and the grounds around the hotel well kept and beautiful. The area is really astounding.
The room we had booked was in an adjacent building, a suite of 35 m2. When we arrived they told us that it was not available due to the fact that they had no heating in the place. They had run out of gas and could not get a hold of the delivery company (they said that this was because it was a holiday weekend). They put us in a superior double room of 20 m2 in the original house. It would have been okay for us but we were somewhat surprised that they did not offer us anything for this inconvenience. The bathroom sink had a huge crack in it and the tap leaked in the closed position when you moved it to the cold side (we alerted them to these issue's) . The shutters are old and would not even open and close properly and only had half the catches for them and the balcony doors would not close properly either.
friendly staff, great location
some guestrooms need renovation

Very friendly people, very good food … excellent location looking over Goumois … I liked the vintage atmosphere in the hotel over 100 years old.Room was comfortable. We had a really good stay.
