Cons -
- This should not be classified as a four star hotel. The room was small and the bathroom minuscule. No accessories like shampoo, shower cap etc. provided. Only a kettle and instant coffee sachets with no milk. Most decent hotels have espresso type machines these days. Breakfast was expensive with cold plates for hot food which was not hot anyway. Very disappointing for people who are usually easy to please. Not good value for money.
- The hot pool wan’t hot as we expected. It was set on 25 degree Celcious, still felt a bit cold during winter.
- Despite the ongoing modernizations of this hotel, what they have NOT done is to improve the insulation between the floors. We stayed in a room on the 1st floor and had ELEPHANTS (or so we thought) in the room just above, 208. They were stomping around in wooden shoes (or so it sounded), moving furniture and banging doors around roughly 06:00-09:00 on the Saturday morning. What was worse was that they decided to leave very early Sunday morning so already at 05:00 they were at it again. So we were woken up AGAIN because of inconsiderate guests AND very poor insulation between floors. There went the plan to have a nice sleep-in out the window....What was supposed to be a nice relaxed weekend with hopefully some skiing (which we did get done!) we were woken up and kept awake by very inconsiderate other guests. The 400€ it cost was way too expensive for the weekend we had.

The room we stayed in has a very stunning view of the Gerardmer lake. The room is also spacious and the bed is very comfy. On the 1st floor there is the wellness center. We went there twice to enjoy hamam, sauna, and jacuzzi. The quailty of the food in the restaurant is also exceeding our expectation.

The location is great, just next to the lake. They really make an effort to keep the "old-fashioned proper Hotel"-feel with continuous updates of painting, carpets and modernizing rooms. The restaurant is a very nice high standard Hotel Restaurant with a great kitchen. They also have an excellent bartender making VERY nice cocktails! The breakfast is copious and very nice indeed.

The room was hot, the internet access worked and there was a lift.
The restaurant, the bar and the lounge were all closed and the room as small with hardly any space to use a laptop.
Great view from.our room over the lake, good sized room. The half board option was excellent with delicious choices. The breakfast was exceptional.
Main thing was that there was a bath with shower over which was very high to get out of and there was no hand rail to help. Also, no air conditioning which meant we wanted to open a window but there was only a door to open...not very practical.
We have stayed here twice before and like it. Friendly staff, beautiful view of the hills, delicious dinners. We felt rested and cared for.
The wifi was a pain. Kept dropping in and out.
Lake view.Balcony with room.Location of hotel within walking distance of restaurants, shops & supermarkets.Good sized swimming pool.Small fridge in room.Free parking.
No air conditioning (but we knew this before we reserved). Airconditioning would have allowed us to cool the room at night, as well as reduce outside noise.Very small safe in the room which, although better than nothing, was impractical.Room & clothes' hanging space small for 10 nights, but appreciated rain shower & separate wc.
The locationThe entrecote was excellentBreakfast was good
The room was big but only comfy chairs for 1 person! A suite with no balcony? The shower was no good if you didn't want to wet your hair.
Right on the lake. Lots of places to eat. Swimming pool was a bonus.
Didn't find staff friendly. Waited 15 minutes at the bar for a drink and nobody to serve despite the receptionist trying to find someone. Gave up and went elsewhere. Plenty of other places just outside hotel.
Superb location. Garage. Parking. Dinners were very nice in a lovely restaurant.
Breakfast was hard work. Too many people at the same time walking to and from the separate room where the buffet was located. Really annoying start to the day.
The Restaurant was top-notch, the location at the lake was really lovely. Being able to sit on the terras with such a nice view was great. The staff speaks English as well.
Nothing really
LocationViewConfortable bedGood food in restaurant
Bathroom small Toilette sliding door
Newly refurbished room was an excellent standard. The staff were warm and welcoming. The location and view were excellent. Overall we felt this was very good value for money
Air conditioning would have been helpful, although there are large patio doors you can open for ventilation.
Good location clean and comfortable, bathroom is nice
Small room, you need to pay extra money for jacuzzi and sauna
Excellent breakfast with quality products
The door of the toilets was a sliding one, with gaps when closed which gives no privacy as the person sharing the room can hear or smell our businesses.
The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The bathroom was large with a spacious shower. shower gel etc provided along with good coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast was delicious, so many options it was difficult to choose. stunning location, right on the lake.
we would have felt a bit better if the car park door had been closed in the evenings as we were traveling on a motorbike.
ideally located at immediate access to the lake and downtown
view on the lake, spa and pool
Staff great
The humidor in the particularly nice cigar room was not functioning & thus dried out the cigars to point of mgt closing the room. Pity
