Hotel Fontanals Golf

It's a very nice hotel right in the centre of the Cerdanya valley, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and next to a golf course and a picturesque mountain stream. There are also fields of cows and horses. The reception area is beautifully build of thick wooden beams and the rooms are so clean, classy and comfortable. The breakfast has lots of options, including 'free from' foods and is well worth the cost. The nearest town, Alp, is only a 3 minute card drive away.

They don't have their own restaurants, you have to drive to one of the nearest towns for evening meals. Alp is only 3 minutes away and Puigcerda is a 10 minute drive away. If you visit out of season, there are only a handful of restaurants open in either of those towns.

the room wasn't clean enough, under de bed we had dust from several days I guess. and that show me that there is a problem with the extensive cleaning

Great view from a comfortable room. Clean and well appointed. Excellent location to explore the surrounding area. Beautiful country setting. Bed was very comfortable!

The room was hot on arrival so we turned off the heat and opened a window. Everything else was perfect. Breakfast was not included in room rate which was confusing because we thought it was.

Nice location, calm, with amazing views. The hotel is elegant with a cozy room. Perfect location in a tiny village, close to bigger cities like Puigcerdá.

The lounge is atmospheric with so much glass onto the garden and pool. Ground floor bedrooms with terraces onto the garden and facing south to the mountains are simple, modest, but great.

The formal dining room is dull and in a basement without natural light.

Facilities were great, located right on a golf course. The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful. Advised us to have lunch at the golf clubhouse and it was amazing value for money. We will definitely come back.

Very nice location, good parking, very nice and attentive staff.

No sound proofing. No problem with decent neighbors, but I had to have a talk with two unrelated feral guests in this location. I've had such trouble very rarely, hundreds of hotel stays.

Very friendly front of house staff, beautiful golf course, very clean and comfortable room with an amazing view. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere.We didn't make use of the restaurant or bar, since there are so many amazing restaurants near by. A few nice walks that can be done from the front door and plenty more to discover a short drive away, too.

Food is hard to find. Hotel needs to realize that visitors traveled 9000 miles. Visitors are hungry. It would have helped a great deal if hotel staff made it very clear — Fontanals restaurant closes at 4:00 and you cannot eat here after that. And hotel staff should be very knowledgeable on restaurants, exactly what down they are in, hours open, and days open. We drove town to town looking for food, down very narrow streets, in pouring rain. Hotel staff needs office help so they can help people.

I overall liked the breakfast, but the sweet pastries were inedible - fridge temperature and dry.

Modern comfortable hotel. Short drive to Puigcerda, a lovely town with many bars and restaurants. Easy parking at hotel. WiFi good.

Not very helpful any of the men at the reception. Didn’t move or help bringing the bikes down or up any of the days.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airfield for our early morning hot air balloon ride. Great location, very quiet, comfortable and a short drive to the local town with choice of restaurants. Excellent value for money.

Location

To have your breakfast they send you to a basement room with no windows. You are in the middle of mountains and they have a breakfast room with no windows. On top of that, there are signs in each table, saying you are not allowed to take any food out. And there is a huge double mirror right where the breakfast buffet is, so someone is watching you while you serve yourself. Didn't appreciate that at all. The hotel was pretty empty and they put us in a room facing homes, not facing the beautiful scenery.

Great and cozy after 2 hours drive. Excellent I was suprised, it also had a bathtub jaccuzi

It's an exceptional location, so beautiful and quiet - a real hidden gem. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is very near Masella, the ski resort.

It's a shame the hotel does not offer a dinner service. When you're skiing the whole day, being able to just stay in would be a godsend. A couple of hot tubs would also not go amiss.

Room temp was a bit too high. Slow elevators.

The hall was very welcoming and the staff was helpful and nice. Breakfast outstanding!

The rooms and bathroom are very old for the price.
