    Pros +

    • The breakfast was delicious and varied. The staff was super helpful as they even made booked us a table at two different restaurants. The lady at the breakfast room even suggested some places to see and checked on us everyday. They even provided umbrellas free of charge to take with us given that it was raining heavily during our stay. There was even complimentary tea at any time during the day. The shower pipe in our room broke and they fixed it immediately.
    • Very charming with a lot of character, yet also has many modern amenities. The location is perfect for whatever you want to do in the area. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
    • Excellent Breakfast. The staff is great and always ready to help. Nice location and this can be a fun place to stay.

    Cons -

    • There were not enough facilities in the hotel, such as indoor pool, gym, billiard, etc. Given that it rained for most of the time during our stay, we couldn't spend our days at the hotel as there wasn't much to do. The pillows were not comfortable and the rooms were very outdated, especially the furniture and there were no sheets, just a cover. Moreover, a strong smell of mould welcomed us as we got into our rooms. There wasn't a charging point next to each bedside table so one of us had to charge the phone on the windowsill. There were no restaurants within walking distance and the Douro valley was around an hour away from the hotel by car.
    • There is at least one room we stayed in that was not up to par. Ir has a worn out bed and the shower water can alternate very quickly from scalding hot to cold. The other rooms we later got upgraded to were far better.
    • Dog charge of €30 is excessive for 1 night

Really helpful reception staff, cozy room and lovely grounds

Dog charge of €30 is excessive for 1 night

Very good breakfast, beautiful territory and decor inside the Quinta

Hotel charge 30€ for dog accommodation without prior information about extra charge for this service. I was unpleasantly surprised.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. From the receptionist to the housekeeping staff, everyone made an effort to ensure our comfort and make us feel welcome. Parking was plentiful and easy to use. The suite was wonderfully spacious and charming. The breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of fresh fruit and bakery options. We would definitely stay there again.

Nothing. Everything was better than we expected.

It is a very nice and old site, which apperantely was consulate of Peru in the past. The surrounding was very green ans suitable for walks

There was a constant sound from the air condition pump right under my room, made it very hard to sleep.

Staff and facilities were lovely ?

We were there for a wedding locally but it is in the middle of nowhere and if you don't have a car getting around is difficult.

Loved the hotel surroundings and the walks round the grounds. Also loved the decor, stone walls. I stayed in the annexe room 26. It was quiet, easy to walk to. Staff were friendly and helpful, spoke good English.

    Can’t think of anything.

    8GokulrajPosted on: 9-18-2023

Authenticity of the property and the friendliness of the staff.

Staying with toddlers, rooms/suites are bit unsafe with open stairs and slippery wooden floor.

    10Supersoup63Posted on: 9-18-2023

Very good breakfast served by a very nice lady. The room was very charming

    No wifi

The hotel was charming just like it’s name …it was clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was very good and service was great.

The route to hotel was a little complicated

    7LaurentiulucianPosted on: 6-7-2023

The wooden rooms and the surroundings.

No heating, really cold at nights even if it was summer.

We had a very pleasant stay in this beautiful place that is full of character and situated in an unbelievable natural surrounding.Me and the dog have enjoyed everything a lot. The friendly staff, great housewine, discovering the large property park, etc.: it was a very nice experience. The hotel is close to Porto and other interesting places in the North of Portugal.I was pleasantly surprised to encounter such a beautiful, natural and calm place in this part of Portugal.
