    Pros +

    • It’s in a lovely location near to the town and just off the Avenue Verte if you are cycling . They have good facilities for storing your cycles.Good choice of breakfast at the buffet .
    • Apart from anything else, the building is fascinating! The room was large, the bathroom big enough to host a party. It's a short walk into the town, and a short walk to the casino if that's your style. The nearby Valhalla restaurant is good for an evening meal - but you need to book a table. Otherwise they can serve charcuterie and cheese. The cycle storage was a huge secure garage.
    • Good parking around the back of the hotel, easy check-in large room with a balcony at the front but it was boiling hot, it was a rainy day but the room was very hot, we had to turn off the bathroom radiator and open the balcony doors. the mattress was comfortable BUT the bed was made so tight you had to un-make it to get in, there is no restaurant on site, but they do serve breakfast in a room off the main lobby, but there is a restaurant next door called "Valhalla" that serves good pub grub style food at very reasonable prices. Good shower and separate toilet, small bottled water in room and some shower gel etc

    Cons -

    • the bedding. loose bottom sheet, loose top sheet then a duvet then another loose sheet... I spent all night fighting with the bed clothes, room was super hot and you could hear noise from next door.
    • The building looked a little tired but it was raining when we arrived and when we left. Appearances can be deceiving.
    • It would be better if rooms for dogs did not have carpet. We were sneezing a lot ? and I believe this is due to carpet having had dogs in the room previously.

Very convenient for the motorway, safe parking and very helpful receptionist, even came up with an electric kettle and fresh milk for my wife's tea! Good value for money.

To have our dog welcome in the room was excellent for us.Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was good too.

Power was out for the day, so they moved us to a nearby hotel, far more comfortable and luxurious, at no cost. It was all perfect!

Really appreciated the bike storage facilities. Breakfast a bit expensive but seems many clients availed themselves of a packed lunch as well, meaning the combo package worked out about right! Bottled watef in the room was appreciated.

Tea coffee making facilities would be good.

What I DIDN'T like was the constant noise from outside. The hotel is on a junction on a VERY busy road. The general traffic is constant all day until around midnight. Then the boy racers start with their popping exhaust and excessive speed. The hotel has no air conditioning so, in a heat wave, we had to sleep with the windows open. It was impossible to sleep until around 2am. In the morning, around 6am, the traffic starts again. At 9am there was a delivery made by a very large refrigerated lorry, who left his engine running throughout the whole delivery, right underneath our window. There are also tables outside where people sit talking loudly. For this reason alone, we will not use this hotel again. I expect to be able to get a good nights sleep and it was impossible at this hotel, in the room we were in (115, right above the front door). We travel a lot and I can say, hand on heart, this is the noisiest hotel we've ever stayed in. It's such a shame because the hotel itself is lovely.Other than that, we had a very pleasant welcome from a friendly gentleman. The hotel reception is very impressive and our room was a good size, with quality towels and bedding. The beds (we had twin beds) were very comfortable, although the pillows were very lumpy and need replacing.Parking is good, being round the back of the hotel. There is an elevator to the upper floors. Our room was carpeted and so were the corridors, which we like. The windows are very large, letting in lots of light. The room was large, with lots of space to move around. We were charged €5 for one night for our small dog, which we feel is fairIt's a real pity about the noise, as we'd love to have stayed here again but it really is just too much.

THE NOISE!! See above. There is no air conditioning. We stayed during a heat wave and it was awful. The towel rail is far too low and right where you walk in the bathroom. I bumped my head twice and I'm not that tall. Please move it across the room, so that it's above the tissue dispenser and out of the way. There is no coffee maker or kettle (fortunately, we had taken a travel kettle with us). There is no socket near the 'desk' area, only those near the bed, so we had to boil our kettle on the shelf next to the bed.The TV could do with being bigger for the size of the room. Also, there are no English TV channels. I know this is France but you're in Normandy, presumably with lots of English guests. It would be a nice touch.I liked that there was shower gel in the shower but I don't like hard soap provided to wash my hands. It's immpossible to get any shower gel to wash your hands with, unless you actually get into the bath. The bath is very, very slippery, with no hand rail. Please consider providing a non-slip bath mat before someone has an accident! We didn't have breakfast, as we think €15 each is too much. Almost 50% of the room fee.The lady who checked us out was rather grumpy.
