    Pros +

    • The hoteliers were the best, then the building, the heritage, the breakfast, and the exceptionally clean and authentically swiss accommodations. The hotel is authentic Swiss in every way, which touched me, it made me feel connected, comfortable, and happy
    • Warm welcome from husband/wife owners. VErY comfortable beds. Superb meal in their restaurant.
    • Breakfast was standard continental.

    Cons -

    • I haven't been here before now. I must come back for every season.
    • No real problems but two things to be aware of: Hotel doesn’t have a lift so if stairs are a problem then you will have a problem. Hotel is a steep downhill walk from train station. This is a small, lovely and quiet town. The hosts offer warmth, comfort and care. We highly recommend this hotel!
    • We received the notice from the owner through Booking.com that the restaurants in town were all closed on the day we checked out, not before. It would have been nice to have known before.

This is a family run traditional Swiss mountain hotel with a good restaurant. The “family” extends to the guests, who are treated as part of the family. The unusual aspect is that the wife of the husband/wife team who own the hotel is Thai, and thus there are several excellent homemade Thai dishes on the menu along with traditional Swiss/European ones. Our room was large and comfortable with a small, immaculately clean bathroom. Filisur is an ideal location for taking the world heritage Rhaetian Railway trains around this part of Switzerland. Bernina Express and Glacier Express stop in the small town. The town has a COOP market across the street from the hotel. The hotel has beautiful views from every direction.

Nothing could be improved, but if you are looking for the facilities of a large 4-star resort hotel, the Rätia is not for you. There is a steep walking path, partially paved, which connects the station to the hotel. It is suitable for pulling small suitcases. One can also walk down the paved road or take the hourly bus which starts at the station and stops right in front of the hotel.

Very cosey and traditional little hotel in an old Alpine house.

    1. The atmosphere of living in the countryside of Switzerland.

    1. The heating is quite weak, so I am really cold in the night.2. I think the staff forgot to put the hairdryer to our room.

The owners were very friendly and the location in the village of Filisur is very good. Liked the ability to open the window and look out onto the street. The free transport pass enabled me to take the bus to Davos and back. Breakfast was excellent - including the very fine coffee. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night - very tasty food and I recommend the home made tomato soup.

The trip from and to the station with a heavy case is a bit challenging, but can be managed with patience especially if you take the road rather than the walking path.

This was a small, but clean hotel. Exactly what I needed on my way to Grisons. The breakfast was great!

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but otherwise all good.

The hotel was located in a lovely old town, very quiet and peaceful. The staff was really nice. The hotel restaurant provides Asian dishes which was lovely and special. There was a coop supermarket across the road which was convenient.

The hotel was located downhill several meters from train station, and the shortcut was not suitcase friendly.

I didn't have much interaction with staff as there was no one at the hotel when I walked in. It took me a while to notice there was a piece of paper with my name on it and a key on a counter. I guess it's really safe there. Dinner - food was really really delicious, but the service was meh. They did let us leave the luggage in the morning after checking out while we hiked and before catching a train. That was helpful.

Bathroom had a very bad odor. I didn't even use the shower because of the smell. It looked clean, but I just couldn't get passed the smell.

It’s in a beautiful location, the Glacier Express stops there, which is way I chose it. You get a railway card from the hotel which I used to go to Davos which was free. Also you can go to the famous Landwasser Viaduct, there is little train to take you there. Would definitely go back. The staff are friendly, breakfast was good. The restaurant food was excellent.

Friendly pension with slightly old-fashioned rooms, a short walk downhill and a steep walk back uphill from Filisur station. There's a cheerful restaurant with local and Thai dishes, and good pizza. Breakfast was nice. We needed a twin room and could separate the beds on wheels easily. The village is nice for a stroll down the main road with lovely old farmhouses, and into the fields and forest beyond.

The decoration is somewhat dated - but maybe adds to the charm. The only electricity plugs in the room were halfway up the wall, or at floor level half behind the beds, not quite what a modern traveller needs!

Excellent restaurant with some Asian dishes available. Very friendly staff.

No lift. Down hill from the station, but there's a bus stop outside the hotel.

Love the the chestnut yogurt at the breakfast buffet which is great. The staffs are pleasant. Enjoyed the conversation with the owner who is from Thailand. So one of our friend had a Thai dish for dinner. And we ordered spaghetti. They are all delicious.

Unfortunately, we had an attic converted bedroom. 2 small windows. The slanted ceiling made me feel very uncomfortable.

Small, privately owned inn perfect for overnight stay. We had a wonderful dinner of local specialties. The manager was very helpful with dinner and wine recommendations

No air conditioning so opened windows and had insects all night.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this wonderful old hotel in the small village of Filisur. The hosts were very welcoming. The room had everything, wifi was good. Large windows let in the breeze during this period of sunny, warm weather.I ate at the hotel restaurant for three nights. The menu was varied and there was plenty to eat. It was wonderful eating outdoors, with very old grape vines above you.The Post Auto stop was opposite the hotel. This was most beneficial, as the railway station was many metres higher than the hotel.I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a great stay.

    Nothing at all.

Excellent location, great hosts and very nice restaurant too with varied menu. Bar on site too.

I couldnt find any English speaking channels on the tv but it was very hard to find fault overall

Large clean room with windows on two sides with mountain views. Good restaurant with wide range of choice. In centre of village, near Co-op.

Breakfast was fine but with no choice. Steep hill up to railway station, but a bus ran from the hotel door to the station to connect with trains.

    the view

the thailander lady when i enter she welcomed me with this word (yes what you want) is this the way how to welcome the guests .. the room very small .. everything its closed just 1 restaurant open in the other hotel

The bed and pillows are comfortable and the owners husband and wife are very friendly.

Few things that I don’t like are as below;1) No lift (I have to carry my big luggage up to second floor) i am traveling with my daughter and she also have to carry her own luggage up. Both of us r women and so tough and so tired to do it. 2) No toiletry inside the bath room.3) No kettle for boiling hot water.4) Location quite a walking distance with the big luggage will be tiring. 5) House flies flying around and landing on some food like bread, ham and cheese.
