    Pros +

    • We liked the location, room was fine, supper was available in the evening. The hosts were extremely helpful in the morning when we woke up to 7 inches of snow and needed to put chains on the car. They gave us complimentary coffees, and kept the place open until we were ready to leave.
    • Really beautiful old house with a very comfortable bed, all what you need after driving all day. Staff were super kind and, even though we arrived when the kitchen was already closed, prepared a delicious dinner for us. We really appreciated it!
    • A beautiful traditional hotel in a delightful location. Our hostess was lovely, we were the only guests as it was the day before NYE, but still she made us so welcome and cooked us a delicious meal. The area is spectacular and village quiet but reasonably close to the Autoroute. We would definitely like to return.

    Cons -

    • It is really out of the way, off the beaten track, and only opens up for a guest when booked. So in winter, in february, it can feel very remote, and if it snows like it did for us, you are in danger of getting stuck there without many facilities. Roads from the main road are steep in aces, so not easy to navigate in heavy snow.
    • The room was very small. The room was located up two flights of narrow stairs. We left our luggage in the car!
    • The room was extremely hot. If you are planning to stay, please keep in mind. I would suggest the company use air conditioning or ventilators for customers

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was really good. The small village where it id located was very quiet at night.

Comfortable, clean room. Evening meal outside on the terrace. Not expensive. Calm rural location but easy access from the motorway. We hope to return.

Traditional French countryside hotel with excellent service and good value for money. We stayed for one night en route to Spain and arrived quite late but got a really friendly welcome and a superb dinner.Additionally as we were a family of 4 in a quadruple room we were offered an extra room free of charge.

Wonderful little place in the middle of nowhere. Nothing fancy, but all you need and Marie is a superstar.

    8PhilippePosted on: 9-2-2022

Marie is a very nice host. She booked us a nice local restaurant in the evening. Very quite place, good bedding and very good breakfast. The place to stay when you visit this lovely part of the world.

First impressions on a dull wet October evening were mixed but as we settled in we realised we had judged it unfairly and the property showed its self to be well cared for, recently decorated and spotlessly clean. Yes it's basic accommodation but our room was bigger and lighter than the majority of traditional French hotels we had used. To our surprise we found ourself back in one of the hotels that seemed common 30, 40 years ago but are now mostly lost. Hard working owners, heart of the community, good food, simple accommodation all at a simple price. Sadly we left reeking of smoke one thing from the good old days we don't miss.

Our late booking, done a few hours before we arrived didn't go down well with Madam. A hard working and popular host with the locals we somehow managed to get fed, watered and pay the bill without her actually acknowledging we were in the building. I don't know what we did to upset her but I'm sure it was our fault and I wouldn't let this put you off staying. France and the UK need places like this.
