Hotel Astro

Well-maintained hotel close to town. The rooms are reasonably sized for Europe, the bathroom is small but very clean. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. The parking is in the street right in front of the hotel. There is a major train line right across the street but but the trains are pretty quiet and it really didn't bother us. This is the best hotel in Polykastro IMHO.

They clean the rooms in the early afternoon and do not change towels daily. There is no shower curtain or glass in the bathroom, so the water sprays everywhere. Also, there is no place to put the handheld shower head, so you have to hold it with one hand while taking care of business with the other.

Great and very helpful staff. Excelent location, only 15 min from the border, ideal for take a break if you go on a long trip. Comfortable beds, quiet neigborhood, parking.

Disappointing

There is no house order in the building. The Greek guests came at 3am and shouted in the hall, banging with doors until 5am. Absolute disrespect to other guests. None of the owners tried to make everyone have a pleasant stay.

The garden in front of the hotel is nice, pleasant to drink coffee

I feel we were little catfished by photos on Booking, the photos did not really transfer to reality.Apartment is rather small, beds are not the most comfortable. Small fridge, small bathroom.

We’ve booked a room in this hotel in order to rest because we have a long way to travel. But we did not rest at all. The doors in this hotel are very old and you can hear when people are talking in the hallway. During the night, people were coming back from their night out, talking loudly in the hallway, slamming doors. We manage to have some sleep from 5-8 am. Don’t book this hotel if you want to rest.

Great place for short stay given that it is near the border. The staff is very flexible with check-in time, they are nice and polite, helped us to park our car.

Room is small but we saw that on photos. It may be a problem for longer stay.

Great stuff and location. Super place to stay one night if you are travelling to Greece by car. Good for individual travelers and not a great option for a family. Very welcoming personal and owners

Price is little high for such quality. However this is only option in this region, so it's better than nothing

Breakfast was not available at all, since last month September. However when we made the reservation, according to booking.com breakfast was available and had to pay directly at property. This was not accurate and we were told by staff that breakfast was only served in Summer Season until month of September. It would be great if Booking.com would update these conditions.

Location was off the main road. Quiet location that felt safe. We just needed a place to stay for one night and this hotel was perfect for that.

Hotel had a cafe/bar but it wasn't open when we were there but lot's of places nearby to eat or drink at. Room was very small but adequate for a one night stay.

Really friendly staff, the room met our expectations and it was really nice to have a balcony with enough space to sit and have a coffee ! Quiet, easy access, nice shower, good air-conditioning.
