Cons -
- Cleanliness of public areas wasn't up to scratch - there was dry mud cast-off from shoes on the stairs for two days.
- Small room with no wardrobe nor fridge. Very expensive for what it offers. I didn't like the food in the hotel 's restaurant. The reception kept sending messages about on line check in and check out and when we arrived they didn't even want to see our documents .The wooden houses in Nora and the cafés along the lake are beautiful. It's a pity there are no taxis, so we couldn't go to the old mining village of Pershittan.
- Breakfast choices quite limited. For example no granola or muesli. No croissants or pastries.

We have been staying many times in Nora Stadshotell and the majority of visits have been great. The hotel is located extremely central in Nora with easy access to everything this little town has to offer. Our favorite room (I won't reveal the room-number :D ) is very comfortable and clean with a large tv, two comfortable chairs, a little table, morning-robes and a great double-bed. The rooms can get cold during the winter-season so make sure to ask for an electric heater, they will put it into your room at no extra charge. The breakfast is also a bonus, very fresh with both hot and cold dishes, served in an elegant old-fashioned breakfast room. The younger staff is very pleasant and they really want to do what's best for you and help in as many ways as they can. Then the restaurant and pub also deserves a mention. The menu is not long, but what's on offer is excellent and very value for money. There is also a pub-menu with less costly food on offer, also excellent value for money.
Sometimes there is a lack of attention to detail. On our last visit, we were given a room where the toilet couldn't flush, this should have been noticed and fixed before a guest has arrived. The reception has quite limited opening hours, although there is a phone-number you can call in case you need help. We had a bit of trouble with accessing the hotel after closing time because the cards didn't work. This was pointed out, we got new cards without problem, but as it turned out they also didn't work to open the outside door. Also on our last visit, we were told upon arrival that the breakfast wasn't being served in the hotel. Instead, due to few guests, it would be served in the nearby "Lilla hotellet". Of course we can understand this, but it would have been great to get this information before arrival. And on a final note...why don't diversify the rates according to season? The price we paid now in January is exactly the same as you pay during peak-season, which defies logic (at least to me)
Lovely historic hotel with comfortable and clean room. Good breakfast.
Open air bar a little noisy with music playing. But there mid week so didn’t stay open late.
Great location, lovely building, fantastic staff
Grand, old building with character
Was comfortable, warm and had some nice little extras
The room was quite small and a bit "tired" compared to the other two rooms that my family were staying in. There may be a reason for this such as gradual renovation ( a room at a time for example)
Great location and breakfast
The restaurant had live music which was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak, and that was quite disappointing.

Old traditional city hotel, in central Nora.
It was midsummer so staff and services was at an absolute minimum. Everything worked as it should though.
We stayed at Nora Stadshotell for four nights in June, and we had a great time despite visiting my home town for the first time since my mother passed away. From the super friendly staff, the comfortable beds, the magnificent view, the delicious breakfast and scrumptious lunch, and the clever mixologist who created luscious cocktails, to sneaky ghost-hunting excursions of the hotel I once partied in, we can honestly say, we will return, and when we do, we will book Nora Stadshotell again. Swimming in Nora Lake, eating tasty food (wild bowls in Björk, waffles in Selma G and meatball sandwich in Strandstugan), and, of course, visiting with family and childhood friends were highlights of our short stay in Nora. As we would say in Ireland when we have had a good time, "the craic was mighty in Nora"
Nothing. We liked everything.
the bedroom was really looking nice. nice new tv
the bathroom was not finished. but i could still use it.
Breakfast was very good
The restaurant and bar closed early and was not even available to hotel guests.
comfortable beds/bedding and room updated.
very poor ventilation. had to keep with windows open (noisy). ALL public areas, hallways and breakfast/outdoor very worn and in bad shape. Stair carpets badly woren. bathroom dark and small. Personnel very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated in the middle of town and everything is within walking distance. It is charming and the staff is friendly. The beds are comfortable, the room was clean and breakfast was really good. We also had dinner at the hotel two nights and the food was good!
The hotel is in the middle of town so it can get a little bit noisy on weekends. Especially if you like to have your windows open in the summer.
The breakfast was great, bads very comfortable and everything was good value.
My friend has difficulties walking and even though the stairs had railings, we would have needed an elevator.
Wry well located
Needs a little bit of love and a freshen up.
