Hôtel restaurant La Grand Mare

Pretty hotel with big room ( ideal for our two dogs) and central in town with parking not far away. The room was light and airy and very clean. The staff were very friendly and even did us a flask of coffee for our journey.

Restaurant was closed. Despite emailing and messaging a few times in the run up to our stay to check the restaurant was open and reserve a table I couldn't get a reply. I contacted Booking.com who tried to phone the hotel for me. then sometime later I got a message back up from the hotel saying that my table had been reserved and my mind was put at rest one hour before we arrived. We received a telephone call to say that the restaurant was closed but there were other restaurants in town we could go to… It transpired that there was literally one that was open that allowed dogs and it was an Italian. The lady that were in a hotel booked this for us, which was kind, but it wasn't what we had come to France to eat and was a real shame ( despitr being very good food) after seven hours in the car we also like to just eat in the hotel restaurant rather than have to conduct a walk after our back to our beds. If we have been given this information before and we could've chosen a hotel where the restaurant was open, that would be my own criticism of this place as it was otherwise absolutely lovely.

This is a great place - great staff and real foodies too. The menu is modern and the food was really delicious - highly recommend. Breakfast was continental style with super fresh pastries and home made jams. We will be back ….

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a pleasant view over the village pond. There was no hotel parking, but safe off road parking was available around the pond. It is in the centre of the village, very close to all amenities.

Our only criticism is that that no glasses were provided in the bathroom.

your web site said that the hotel had a very good restaurant. there was no restaurant, no food,the review and pictures were from five years ago. The hotel was just a bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was a minimum continental at a high cost, we even had to bring our own fruit down to breakfast.I would not stay here again. very disappointing

We turned up and the place was empty, covers on the dining furniture. We hung around for an hour but nobody turned up.At 21.30 the owner rang to see were we were, we explained and he told us a woman should have been there. By which time we had already booked somewhere else

Very friendly hosts that provided a great service. The area is quiet so we had a lovely sleep. The host prepared a lovey dinner!

Location and parking were good. Plenty of space in the room and all very modern. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. We were only passing through and Conches is just a small town with no real features. Fine for one night. We did struggle to find anywhere for supper.

Fantastic staff who made sure everything was good for us. Breakfast is available for a reasonable price right in the hotel. Cute little town that you could walk around right from the room.
