    Pros +

    • Historic hotel with recently modernized bedrooms. The staff let us use the hotel garage overnight. Evening meal was excellent
    • Nice staff and good meals. Storage for bikes.
    • A typical French hotel in a small village with super friendly and helpful staff

    Cons -

    • I would've like air conditioning in the room
    • We didn't expect to have to be driving so far from Sisteron, on very narrow roads, at some points we thought we had got lost. So accessibility is a problem. The room and bathroom were very small and not very clean. Because of the bugs and flies we couldn't open the window for some much needed fresh air. Food in the restaurant was (for the quantity of it) quite expensive so we didn't decide to pay 11 euros for breakfast. We intended to enjoy dinner outdoors, but the experience was spoilt by many flies. Judging by the price, we expected a much nicer, more modern hotel with a bigger and cleaner room.
    • I didn’t partake of any food as there was a cheap supermarket a 5 minute walk away. As a touring cyclist I find hotel food too expensive.

We liked the staff being friendly and helpful. We also liked the vacinity of bakery-boulangerie and the store Proxi, around the corner. There are also many beautiful things to see, although everything is quite far from Comps and the roads are narrow. I would suggest visiting a small town Draguignan, if you don't mind a bit of driving.

Amazing hotel and restaurant!!! Do yourself a favour and stay here. It is typical French but of a high standard. Recent upgrades to the rooms, with new mattress, curtains, paint and fixtures. The owner is so friendly and takes pride in her hotel. The food was Michelin quality! Stay here, we will again.

Nice location although not much to do as a cyclist. You need motorised transport to explore further. Lovely bright big room. Nicely decorated. Big bathroom. Hot shower. Toiletries supplied. Big comfortable bed. Very clean. Bottled water provided. Secure storage for my bicycle. Nice friendly staff.

I didn’t partake of any food as there was a cheap supermarket a 5 minute walk away. As a touring cyclist I find hotel food too expensive.

Nice staff, we arrived late and they organized a cot for baby.

Breakfast prices very high especially for kids. We traveled a lot but only in this hotel was the same price of breakfast for adults and kids. General approach in any hotels is half price of adult for kids breakfast.

Great stay. Very comfortable. Delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant in the evening. Secure bike storage in the garage was good.

The breakfast didn't look overly inspiring so I decided not to pay the extra for it and went to the boulangerie just around the corner instead.

Very clean and good restaurant! perfectly located between the Verdon gorge and the French Riviera.

    9PeterPosted on: 8-23-2022

The location was good but the hotel is directly on the main road so it is a little noisy if you have the windows open. The noise stops at 10pm so it's not really an issue. The staff were great accepting my bad French. I decided to have dinner here even though I was the only person dining.... Until 8pm when the restaurant completely filled. The food was fantastic. The breakfast was also great with as much coffee as I needed, pastries, bread, cereal, juice, yogurt and choice of condiments including some home made.

The internet wasn't super strong. I really appreciate good wifi when travelling.

Great value hotel in a beautiful village. The menu in the restaurant is very expansive and good quality.

    6SamanthaPosted on: 7-6-2022

The location was great - in the middle of the village with lots of parking. The rooms was clean and as described with all that we needed for an overnight stay (soap, shower gel, plenty of toilet paper and towels). The breakfast was good - although it wasn't clear that it WASN'T included in the price of the room. There was a nice restaurant and the food was excellent.

The service in the restaurant was terrible. We were abandoned half way though our meal. We left after waiting to order the desserts on the inclusive menu for nearly an hour. There was no chance of another drink or coffee - bearing in mind that this is the ONLY restaurant in town - the owner who was serving us had simply disappeared (it was only 21.30). There was no reduction on our bill to reflect that we had only received half of our meal. A strange experience and one that turned the stay from a pleasant and positive experience into a bit of a disappointment.

Great place, very friendly and helpful people. Good dishes (we mealed at hotel’s restaurant). Hotel is very old and run by the same family for centuries. Don’t expect fancy or boutique place but yes small rural French hotel with unique atmosphere. Worth to sleep in.

    Only one person speaking English

We really enjoyed our stay. traveling by motorcycle, we really appreciated the private garage for parking..Prices are much lower than those across Provence, and the location is ideal to reach Verdon and the Rue de Napoleon.Ps: I added you place to a motorcycle touring guide, getting very popular in Italy. See you soon :)

Great location. Lots of parking space. Good food. Moules frites of the chart! Cozy city. Friendly french towns people, very helpful. Good shopping possibilities. Amazing surrounding views and mountains. Great bakery and coffee places around.

Size of the room, got smaller than expected. Noisy street outside the room. Cigarette smells from the downstairs restaurant. Not very helpful staff and hard to communicate in english. Restaurant staff had minimal english knowledge, friendly, but extremely slow at service.

Great hospitality, very comfy beds, good location.

I know it’s France, but it would be great to improve their English.

    The food and parking.

The distance to the Grand Canyon and the hourly church’s bell during the night.
