Lovely place, amazing views, great breakfast and the nicest hosts. Really worth it, would go back again!

Everything, the location, the staff, the magnificent house, the breakfast...we enjoyed everything!

The noisy people upstairs who came at about midnight making a lot of noise!

Truly unique place with such history and charm. Beautiful location with welcoming community. Amazing breakfast served individually in the garden terrace or other location.

Driveway in the rain on a motorcycle ?

A very interesting renovation, a lot of time money and effort has gone into this beautiful house, breakfast was excellent, Pablo the host is very welcoming and helpful, I will definitely stay again when in the area.

It's an old wooden building and it creaks.....a lot, no Air-conditioning so mid summer it's very hot & the driveway is very steep but don't let this put you off, I would stay again

This is our second visit and a definite favourite when we visit this part of Spain. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful we love staying here..

It's a relatively remote village. isolated but close to nature and the lovely rural environment . High quality rustic finish and facilities. Service exceptional with proactive measures to meet my needs.

soundproofing could be better.on a very steep slope so have to be quite fit to walk up to the property.

The wood within the building is creaking from time to time. But you get used to it.

El Castañíu is a hidden gem. The property is comfortable and superbly decorated, rustic in style but with all mod cons.David made our terrific stay exceptional. He not only provided us with the best breakfast we have had in Spain but also gave us some very pertinent recommendations on places to visit.Everything from staying in touch to making sure we had proper directions to the property were excellently handled. We so wish we had booked to stay longer.

Nothing at all

We loved the breakfast. Amazing homemade food and the staff was very friendly too. The location is a little complicated if you are not used to GPS, but the views are amazing once you get there.

Very stylish, large rooms, mountainous feeling with attention to detail. The views from the garden are amazing, worth spending time just having coffee looking the valley. It is so close to many beautiful hiking and cycling paths in the mountains but also to large cities as well. Definitely ask for recommendations on activities as the guys are really knowledgeable and are able to understand your preferences and point you to the right place. The restaurant/cafe in the village is worth a visit or more with really good food and amazing views. Everyone was kind and went the extra mike to ensure they offer an amazing experience and excellent stay. Not sure about the Spanish but for any foreigners i would consider the location out of the beaten path but with some of the best views and trails in the Asturias. Briefly met the owners and were very kind. We had long discussions with the manager and he was so knowledgeable that offered the best advice you can get anywhere.

For light sleepers may be a slight issue because of soundproofing of the wooden house but nothing to stop you go there.

My family love Casona de Castañiu! It's a piece of paradise for us. Almudena and David were very nice and served us delicious breakfast.
