Pros +
- The view and location that's it
- Garage parking for the motorcycle was great. Our room had a balcony overlooking the lake and the views were fabulous. The bar has a separate area just for guests as the Parador is popular with visitors to their Restaurant and public areas get busy. There was plenty of space for hotel guests.
- Everything, this Parador is simply superb. Situated in beautiful countryside, it is tastefully decorated retaining its original 1928 design. All the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast and the evening meal were served to very high standards.
Cons -
- For the price I was expecting a room with ac , better pillow and bed , looks dated and bathroom very old ,the food to be honest was not good I order a salad and the smell was bad like old fish
- They are reluctant to open the terrace, the best place in the hotel when it just is raining very light. It needs an upgrade.
- You need transportation to get around. No air-conditioned rooms.

Great views, perfect location and good food in restaurant. Nice to relax and enjoy the environment.

Beautiful views.

Great location with beautiful views from our room.
We went for a drink before dinner and there was nowhere to sit. People were wandering around the hotel looking for somewhere to sit. We had booked a table in the restaurant for 8.45pm, waited 10 minutes to be taken to a table then another 15 minutes for someone to take our order. when we eventually got our food it was good
Fabulous hotel with amazing views. Staff were excellent and the food was very good. A great find
The situation was lovely.
The reception staff were unwelcoming. The hotel was under half full, yet we were given rooms on the top floor beside the noisy lifts .The rooms were tired looking and you had to stand on tip toes to see the promised lake view..The supplied hair dryer blew up in my wife's hands--- a replacement was quickly obtained however. The evening meal was poor-- my veal steak was not cooked to my request, was both bloody and gristly and I couldn't finish it, one of the three half potatoes had worm holes in it and there was no sauce available for this dish. Finally we were booked on an excursion to leave the hotel at 7.45 and when we asked when breakfast started were told that it was at 9.30, a ridiculously late time, we eventually were given a cold boxed breakfast which had green bitter apples, rock hard nectarines and unripe bananas. Bread was from the previous nights selection as were some of the almond cakes--all were hard and dry. The bottled orange juice was ok.We had to beg the skeleton staff on at 7pm for hot water for tea and coffee. In the past I have always felt that the paradors hot breakfast was a high point in my stay-- this offering was very much the reverse and we were charged for a hot breakfast on our bill. We are all amigos of the Parador but I think this experience will change that situation as there are so many alternative hotels offering a pleasant stay with good food at half the price.
View was excellent,bathroom tired,breakfast good.
Tired bathroom.
Fabulous location , very relaxing and easy access to the park.
Coffee not good and insufficient size of coffee machines for size of restaurant . We found it very irritating that we had to book a time for breakfast and the restaurant was always half full at breakfast time. Considering we serve ourselves breakfast we didn’t find this pre booking necessary and would have liked to have gone to breakfast when we woke up, not have to set an alarm. Dinner service is too late starting at 8.30 pm, we would not choose half board as an option again.
Spacious room, good price, very nice staff
Evening meal just average
Beautiful location, excellent food and service
Room was noisy next to the lift and windows were too high with no view and poor light
We really enjoyed the views - pay some extra money for the lakeside view -- it is worth it. The breakfast was huge with a lot of variations. Some staff are very friendly and supporting, really a hit or miss.
For Dog owners: First of all there is a "Fee" of 20€ / Night for your dog to stay at the Hotel. Why? Just cause they can. There isn't anything special that they do, they put you and your pet in the same room as all the other guests - with the one exception that despite paying extra, you get treated worse for bringing a dog. You get greeted with a full page of what you can and can't do with your dog while staying there, including where your little friend can walk and where it can't. At all times you'll never know if what you are doing at the moment with your dog is permitted or not and you always get weird looks from the staff just waiting to be told that what you are doing at the moment is not accepted. If you are not planning to leave your dog unattended in your hotel room (we wouldn't do that) then you CAN'T have any breakfast or attend the restaurant. Your only option is to sit on the terrace which you have to access by walking around the building and up the stairs. When we tried to enter the balcony from the Bar (~5 Meters walk across the room) we were told (very rudely) to enter the terrace from the outside. In terms of staff you really have a hit or miss when it comes to your dog, some are super friendly and supportive, some are rude and weird when it comes to dogs. I very much understand that not everyone appreciates dogs on their premises, but then please don't call yourself a dog friendly hotel - the Parador is really not it. The rooms: The rooms are dated and have their own charme, the building is from the 1920's and you can see and especially hear that with a squeeking floor and noises all the time. The bathrooms are fine for what they are, but if you expect a luxury bathroom from a 4* Hotel, you won't find it here.
clean mountain air and quiet.staff great rooms good but basic.what more would I expect for cost.nothing!
nothing, have been using for 10 years
It's a lovely place, the Parador at Cervera. If you want buzz and hum, the bar, the restaurant and the terrace buzz and hum like nobody's business. But the lounges are quiet and sedate, the rooms are huge and the balconies fabulous. At night in August the sun sets in the north-west and rises in the north-east so on the north side of the hotel we began and ended the day in wonderful beauty. The staff are lovely, the food is terrific and the views are incomparable. We walked through the woods to the Senda del Oso, enjoyed a light lunch in the town and then walked back up through oak woods and dry meadows.
This property is set in lovely location overlooking lakes. Large terrace to enjoy the view. The restaurant was excellent
The beds - our beds where very creaky
upgraded to lake side room very beautiful view
Basic room has no view the window was seven foot high and had to stand on top to see or open window.not even staff in the bar area serving food and drinks.staff working hard but not even to cater for the number of guestsTerrace floor dirty under tables.no food available between 4pm and 8.30pm
The view was incredible. The room was a lovely size and was very comfortable. Good choice at breakfast and dining room was very comfortable. In particular the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The balconies could do with a coat of paint/varnish and although the size and facilities in the bathroom were good, it was looking a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. It would have been great to have some basic tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Our last night on tour and what a fabulous place to stay. Rooms are huge and full of traditional construction methods with beams, old wooden doors and furniture along with a huge bathroom too. The view from the bar terrace is stunning, overlooking the Spanish Picos and watching the sun set. Excellent, attentive staff throughout our 1 night stay. This was the evening of the England/Spain European Cup football final and they showed the game of a huge projector screen within one of the large lounge rooms placing us four English at a table in the prime viewing spot. We were surrounded by maybe 40 locals and good banter was enjoyed throughout. Food was excellent too and the breakfast was amazing, the best on the whole trip. A super place to stay and would not hesitate to visit again.
No food was served, either in the bar or the restaurant, until 8.30pm at the earliest. I appreciate the Spanish like to eat late, but given Spain was in the football final, this was very strange as it meant anyone eating in the restaurant would not be able to watch the game. Furthermore, other than a few pastries, no food could be ordered in the bar before 8.30 either. Having arrived at approx. 4.30pm we were somewhat starving by 8.30 and a little light headed on the amount of beer consumed by then. Finally, given the quality of the hotel and the market segment it is clearly aiming at, it was somewhat disappointing and surprising to find that there was no air conditioning in the rooms.
we booked this property to visit family members in the area who didn't have any space in their home to accommodate us. The weather was unexpectedly cool and we would have made more use of the massive terrace with a lovely view if it was warmer. This property is in a picturesque national park precinct with the attraction of outdoor activities such as walking, hiking and mountain biking. My husband used the facilities in the underground car park with Bike tools, hose cleaning area for your equipment and wall mounted racks for storage as you can't put the bikes in your rooms. Our bedroom was large and the bathroom was massive. Breakfast was provided as part of our package and the food was excellent (we tried all the items on the menu over 4 days) and we appreciated the lift for our luggage as we were on the top floor. The building has an old world 1920s ambiance more suited to a Scottish hunting lodge complete with patterned carpet and breakout rooms (such as a games, library and sitting room) which was separate to the main foyer. There was a casual dining area and a formal dining area which we used both.
Our bedroom was on the end of the building which faced the afternoon sun making it a bit warm when we got back from our adventures. We had one of the few rooms that didn't have a balcony and needed to use the aircon in those situations. You had to book a slot for breakfast and dinner reservations in time slots of 30 minutes in between. The property was too far to walk into town for exploration and you needed a car for other parts. Would have been nice to be able to get a spar treatment like a massage.
