    • The position

    Cons -

    • The fact that they are pretty much closed on a Saturday and Sunday is painful. You cannot get coffee, tea or water anywhere in the hotel when they lock it - for hours a day. You can literally only get to your room. No coffee making facilities in the room. No fridge to keep your own drinks. Most staff cannot understand a word of English, so use a translator app! We asked them to book a local taxi at reception, but they refused. Gave us a number to dial. Taxi company cannot understand English, so they just hang up. Needless to say we never got a taxi ordered. The restaurant at the back is a stunning setting. Food well overpriced and mediocre. Very disappointed with this as it cost a small fortune.
    • The room was small and the bathroom was shabby. For the price we paid I would expect better quality. The menu choice was not for us
    • Food was good but expensive for what we got

The evening meal and breakfast were both satisfactory. The hotel has a nice terrace and it was dog friendly.

We thought we had booked a more spacious room. Instead it was a small attic room, up two and a half flights of narrow stairs. No lift available. The room was suffused with the odour of cigarette smoke, the bathroom was very dark, and some furnishings were falling apart. There was only one big towel, one hand towel and one small plastic cup. At 10pm we were offered an apartment, but by that time we were ready for bed. We were provided with extra towels etc, but again too late at 10pm. The manager offered us complimentary breakfasts which in no way compensated for our disappointment.
