    Pros +

    • The hotel is in a 15th century house and is a wonderful, eclectic environment, especially the dining room - old combined with modern artistic touches. The owner is charming and clearly loves his work and his hotel, as well as beautiful music.
    • Clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. We appreciated the powerful fan on a warm night. Friendly staff. Easy stroll to restaurants. We’d stay again!
    • The history! The host/owner Frederic, who gave us perfect suggestions! The location in the lovely town of Counes-Minervois!Meeting friendly people!

    Cons -

    • We had two rooms, one could have used some renovation, it was a little tired around the edges and opening the door was a challenge - although lots of charm in the door and upside down key.
    • Having to leave.
    • Bedroom comfortable but dated (1980s)

This hotel was sooooooo nice. Fredrick was very kind to us and had our lovely breakfast ready each morning. He ordered a taxi for us back to the train station too which was very helpful. The bed was the best of the trip! The entry could be confusing but we had a local help us out. Definitely stay here if you can!!

The building is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and well-appointed. The proprietor is welcoming, friendly and helpful.Secure parking. There is an excellent breakfast - if only they still had a restaurant for the evening. This is just about my favourite hotel in the world.

    Having to leave.

Lovely 16th century home that makes for an intimate just welcoming stay. The location allows easy walking access to the entire village. Parking was secure. Our room was very comfortable with a huge, updated bathroom. Breakfasts were delicious and served with panache. Frederick, the owner, was a huge help to us, whether allowing us to use his things for an impromptu picnic dinner or winery visit or dinner reservations. Would love to return.

    Nothing but raves from us.

Fredric and his son are extraordinary hosts. In addition, this property was perfect for those who wish to experience true France in a small village.

Beautiful old building with lovely internal courtyard. Excellent continental breakfast. Great host

Only tiny problem was no bedside tables

    10JohnPosted on: 9-25-2023

Everything was perfect, particularly the owner who was welcoming, very friendly and helpful.

lovely old very small hotel and a nice gentleman proprietor. in center of small town with 3 or 4 good restaurants. quiet and comfortable

a limited breakfast - as is the general rule in France.

    10SuzannePosted on: 10-27-2022

we were entranced with the castle! the rooms were very updated, fresh and new and comfortable.

    8AnthonyPosted on: 9-14-2022

A historic building right in the centre of the village

it’s a pity that the restaurant is now not operating.

    10MartinPosted on: 8-21-2022

Second visit to this lovely collection of houses that have been converted into one hotel.Located right in the center of the village in a narrow street so no problem with car noise.Garage parking is available (access vie the main road) so no problem with having to leave the car elsewhere.Staff/owners were really friendly and informative and very helpful with offers to book dinner reservations etc.Breakfast was good with lots of things available.

Our room overlook the inner courtyard where breakfast was served, so some noise in the morning of other guests chatting over breakfast. Not a problem but something to be aware of and other rooms that overlook the street are available.

    7RogerPosted on: 8-20-2022

Very large comfortable room, beautiful largebathroom. Frederick is funny friendly and very helpful. historic town with interesting history. good art and pottery.

Couple of glasses in the room would have been nice, - bottle of water even nicer. If you are coming by car make it a tiny one thenarrow streets can be very testing and parking isdifficult although the hotel has a garage attacheddown a narrow street, not for the feint heartedin a medium sized or bigger car. SUV drivers forget it.

    8CarolPosted on: 5-8-2022

The owner was extremely helpful with recommendations of where to eat and sights to see locally.

This was a very old historic building with thick stone walls so the wifi didn't reach our room and the downstairs lounge was closed up early.
