    Pros +

    • beautiful viewsmusquito screens
    • Excellent accommodation and free parking were perfect for our trip The pool was also welcome for our few days chill stop in a busy tour around north Spain Rural location was interesting with a short walk into the local pueblo which has decent cafes including good coffee in El Castillo cafe
    • Quiet little place near small village in Burgos province. Interesting area on the Camino de Santiago.Handy for motorway. Nice swimming pool. Characterful rooms. Comfortable clean beds, great shower, toiletries and towels Delicious breakfast. We had a good dinner in a restaurant near the castle.

    Cons -

    • no wifi in apartmentbreakfast was very minimal and super slow. Had to wait 20 minutes before it arrived. No plain yoghurt, no jam, no butter, no choices of tea."Towels not allowed at pool" sign, i'm on holidays, not at my parents house.Owner stressed about kids touching stuff.Bad smell, a mix of cigarette smoke and cleaning products
    • We were in an apartment which was very hot. No aircon or fans. Mosquito netting on windows was torn in places. One of rooms was a kitchen with 2 single beds along the walls. A bit cramped with a table and chairs in the middle. The exterior is a bit tired and could do with some tlc. Some of the sunbeds are old, faded and stained and should be replaced, as with some of the chair coverings on terrace and in dining room. That said, we enjoyed our stay and it was fine for an overnight en route to Santander.

Third time we stay at this propriety during our trips across the Peninsula and surely we will stay a fourth or a fifth time relaxing in the comfy beds and enjoying the great breakfast

A lovely peaceful place 20 minutes from Burgos. Highly recommended, whether stopping overnight or for a couple of days of tranquility. There's a piano and a small swimming pool. Bring some picnic goods as there is a very quiet fridge in the room. Breakfast was fresh juice, fruit, fresh bread and great coffee.

Location of the hotel is remote. The advantage is that it's very quite. Rooms are big and have an authentic style. Breakfast is limited. It's not a buffet but one of the staff members bring you the different items at your table. If your not a big eater there is more than enough. There is a swimming pool you could uses when its open and temperatures allows a swim. There is restaurant located not far, a gas station and also a bar serving great Spanish dishes

Not much to dislike. I would say the speed at which breakfast is server. There is just one lady (very helpful) handling the service. In case you're in a hurry it could be problematic.

perfect location, so peaceful. The rooms were lovely and we had kitchen facilities. Hosts were accommodating and we had a relaxing stay. Will definitely be making a return visit on on our drive from Santander to Andalusia.

Lovely setting, so peaceful. Beautifully decorated rooms and excellent facilities. Hosts were very friendly and forgiving of my poor Spanish!

We got to Hornillos and there were no beds. It was one of the few places so far where we hadn't made a reservation. So we found a room at Hotel Santa Coloma del Camino. Unfortunately it was pretty far off the Camino and the taxi cost us $25 Euro each way. And the hotel was 103 Euro as I remember. But it was nice and we needed a place to sleep. We were packing light and didn't have the option of camping out.

It was fine as a hotel. I just wish we could have found bunks in an albergue in Hornillos.

Very good breakfast Quiet area close to a small village

Aircondition did not work at all. 37 degrees outside, and aprox same temp in the room, hard to sleep

Very close to the highway, the hotel is the perfect place to stop for anyone wanting to relax away from the big cities. The pueblo is very charming and has everything you need too.The room is very comfortable, clean and modern. Breakfast is really fresh and complete. We haven't had the chance to try the pool bit it is certainly a welcome feature in this kind of weather.

Nice and well decorated room with very comfortable beds. We’ve also much loved breakfast where fresh orange juice and fruits were served. Definitely would have liked to stay longer... maybe in a next occasion

    Nothing to mention
