Cons -
- There was no menu in English and the staff did know English. Very difficult communication, because of the lamguage barierre.
- Cannot think of anything!
- Somewhat run down with old unclean tables and chairs outside. Bedroom needed decorating. Dirty plug socket by bed and overflow on basin black inside. Exposed wiring to the fan.

Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and on site restaurant. Good walking nearby.
Bedroom on top floor within roof space - strange bathroom layout meant very restricted headroom under shower ( basically had to sit on board across the bath) to avoid banging your head! However didn’t affect our overall enjoyment.
Good
Location is unfortunately not very interesting. Walks are limited, need to take the car to other places or to walk next to the road.
The staff was friendly, the restaurant food was beautiful and reasonably priced. The breakfast was our highlight due to the traditional fresh range to choose from. I took a few business cards to introduce friends and colleagues to have a weekend here.
My door handle kept falling off but door was easily used and lockable despite this.
Beautiful property at the heart of Hoces del Duraton Natural Park. Huge room with air conditioning and a very comfortable bed. Extremely clean. Genuinely dog-friendly. Generous breakfast included. The food in the restaurant generally was 10/10. And friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and will certainly be back!
Our only disappointment was that the walk from the hotel to the embalse has been closed for many months. Perhaps the (otherwise very helpful!) info sheet sent in advance should note this - or at least not promote the walk as an activity. There is so much else to do ??
We stayed in a very comfortable family room. The room was very large and perfect for a family of two adults and two children.
The restaurant was a bit disappointing after reading the reviews. There was an option for children, what is definitely a plus, but the rest of the food was disappointing. Nevertheless, we would recommend this hotel.
We liked the character. It had a nice “rustic” look about it both internally and externally. The owner was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Free parking though it’s public and shared between a number of properties.
It took a while to check in as the owner is running a public bar whilst also managing the hotel. As check in is at lunchtime, they were also having to contend with lunches. The room has no air-con (just a powerful noisy industrial fan) and there were cobwebs all over the ceiling. Breakfast had limited choice and featured a VERY slow toaster and the smallest pot of coffee for two we had ever seen.
Professional & friendly staff. Clean room.

Nice place and friendly staff
Room was a bit smelly when we arrived. Local trails are closed to protect the birds, so no chance to see the upper canyon.
Beautiful location. Lovely host.
We left before unpacking as we were told that the bar was open until 5pm. Then closed and the restaurant was closed in the evening. The only food available therefore was in a village 10k away. The host who was very apologetic was prepared to leave a salad.
Location was amazing for us with our dog. Gone made cake and tortilla at breakfast really good.
Restaurant closed first night. We should have been more prepared and taken food with us
The room was charming, the bathtub, sheets, and bathroom was very clean. The staff were very polite and friendly. Parking was plenty. The restaurant food was good.
Breakfast was boring. There was homemade cake that was yummy but everything else seemed like it came from a supermarket. Orange juice in Spain that is not freshly squeezed is a quite sad.
The immediate surroundings are very scenic, the simple breakfast was tasty, the room was a good size, and lunch in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel architecture has charm as has the restaurant. A lovely 4.5km walk along the small river is very peaceful.
The hotel closes at 1pm on a Tuesday so it is important to plan accordingly because there is no-one to give any information, and the restaurant is closed. The location is very scenic but a great pity is the quarry/mine and cement factory, some 200 metres away, which runs 24/7 and makes quite a lot of noise, with lorries and machinery running most of the time.

advertised a bar and Restaurant Not availableBack in the car, travel to the next village. To find something to eat.
Our stay in El Rincon de las Hoces exceeded our high expectations in all aspects. The room was was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was great and the food in the restaurante was exceptional. All the staff were friendly and very attentive; the room service was friendly and very efficient. In the restaurant we have to especially mention Ruben, very friendly and keen to help.
Good
Very remote. Restaurant and bar were closed. Hotel very tired.
my Dad & I loved this lovely quaint hotel, we had our own suite, with a balcony, & the owner & staff loved & fussed over my little Bulldog, they made you feel like family, & the food was delicious, & was the best we'd had in all the hotels we visited on our journey through Spain
Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous room and view. Staff were lovely.and welcoming. There is walking access to the dam and river and parking outside.. The meals were fabulous and good value. Take a walk up the dam and see the view of the reservoir and the vultures souring.
