Cons -
- The room in the attic was horrible, almost impossible to walk due to the very low ceiling under pitched roof. Same problem in the bathroom.
- Nothing really
- Thought we had reserved twin beds so not a great night sleep due to sleeping with my daughter. Otherwise our room was lovely and roomy.

Unique Place with old charm , Nice breakfast in a nice charming restaurant.
I think it's time to change and improve the mattresses
Atmosphere, surroundings, staff, the foods were excellent,we left some clothes there but the staff was very kind to send it back to the UK.

We booked for a budget room but was upgraded without any additional cost.Breakfast was good.
very climatic place - great brekfast and nice area
Beautiful place, friendly staff. Room was perfectly clean, comfortable beds, great breakfast. The shop was so nice. Next time we must stay longer.
Very charming rooms behind the by-the-road restaurant, all Norwegians know this place. It has a big shop with candles, local food, decorations and mountain wear. You can spend hours there. Breakfast boufet has a nice choice of sweet and savoury. You can eat very well. The restaurant menu was OK, but nothing extraordinary. Kids appreciated the goats and the mill in the hotel area. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Close to magma Park and various nice trails. You can hear the nearby stream through the window.
Rooms could be bigger, but we managed to open our suitcases in the spacious bathroom (floor heated).
This hotel is right next to fast flowing stream that you can hear from your bedroom window - the sound of this whilst sleeping was amazing. The restuarant was the highlight of staying here, with the staff being very friendly and the food being very tasty.Bathroom had a heated floor and a nice shower - great for warming up after being drenched by the Norwegian rain.
Being on a bike, this place was nestled at the end of a route that passed through the mountains - whilst I was only 3km away from the hotel, the road was shut so had to make a 70km detour! Be careful of this - especially when it is raining hard and you want to get to your destination! The room was very small with the twin bed seemingly small too.
Facilities, cleanliness, food, staff.
The location- mountains all around, traditional Norwegian cabins, calmness, nature. Breakfast hall with candles. Huge store behind the hotel, built by the mountain is additional bonus.
Clean, good location, restaurant is open till 9pm.
Extra bed was not comfortable to sleep in, squeaky mattress, I was waiting for morning to come sooner, just to get up already.
For being a somewhat random roadside stop in the mountains, this was a very nice place! The renovation of the buildings fairly recently is surprisingly high quality. We had a very substantial (and tasty) dinner in the evening before heading off on a hike in the surrounding mountains. The hike was stunning! The breakfast buffet in the morning was expansive and delicious. The beds were very comfortable with 100% cotton linens and (maybe?) real feather duvets. The family room was set up with two double bed alcoves which were cozy and a nice unique touch. Everything was very clean. We would recommend it as a comfortable place to stay in the area.
The family room could have had a small couch or upholstered chairs. The gift shop is rather bizarre!
Great atmosphere surrounded by nature. Great location to visit plenty of nearby points, and famous Pulpit rock and Kjerag hiking Great breakfast, nice staff
Rooms are a bit basic, but well equipped and maintained Location is a bit isolated, besides one supermarket in a 5 minutes drive distance, not much shops in the area
Pleasant staffRoom clean and comfortable
Diner was only averageBreakfast was just ok
View from the window, good beds
No refrigerator
The place itself has a very authentic atmosphere, and it does not feel like staying in a standard hotel or holiday house. The beds were soft and comfy and the bathroom had heated floor which made showering after a long day feel like a treatment. There are 2 charging stations with either 50kw or 22kw, good for overnight charging. These are not free anymore and as of June 2023 the price for 22kw charging is 6.99NOK per kwh.
We booked a standard room with a queen bed that was supposed to be 18m2. We got a small room of no more than 10m2 with a pitched ceiling that on booking.com was offered for a cheaper price. The breakfast had a really poor choice of food but was good enough. The filtered coffee was very bad as well, if you like good coffee, you will not get it here.
Pictures online did not give justice on how pretty the place is. It’s clean and very quiet! Breakfast was well served and staff are very helpful!!
Hotel is on the road so to say so it's easy to find & right what you need on a road trip. The place is sweet with grass on top of the houses & goats. The breakfast was nice and served in a restaurant full of history & old stuff.
We arrived pretty late and were supposed to pick up the key from the keybox. However when we came, there was no key. Thank God we had skype to call the owner & he came back in 10 minutes and opened a different box which had a key to another room. However he acted like it was us to blame. Also he said that his assistant sent us another msg with another code to the keybox which never happened. He left like in 2 seconds after giving us the key and we had to look for the room and try to find the correct door to open. Not the service one expects.
