- The Chateau is beautiful and in a really lovely, peaceful location. We enjoyed a very relaxing overnight stay. The pool was extremely welcome after a day's travel and the evening aperitif board was perfect. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Drinks were served wherever we fancied, so enjoyed a lovely cold glass of local rosé by the pool, which was perfect. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with an amazing bathroom, really large, with both a bath and a shower.
- Everything thing was fabulous from the location to the food (absolutely amazing)Probably the best food experience in our 3 week trip around Spain and France. The family were so accommodating, nothing too much trouble. Our only negative was no lift, but understand why, it's an old building so can not expect one.Would and will recommend this wonderful peaceful location. Will return again and again
- family owned chateau, the owners were very nice and kind! this is the best part of this hotel! may be during the summer the surroundings will be beautiful, we stayed there in bad weather, so couldn’t enjoy. the rooms had heating which was really nice, because the weather was cold…
Cons -
- it dos have an old feel, but for those who would like to have the experience of an old chateau - it may be perfect…
- I wasn't keen on all the taxidermy in the common areas. Two of our party were vegetarian and the evening meal wasn't very big for them (it was mostly just the meat based meal minus the meat) although it was very tasty.
- The breakfast was quite basic. Tables not laid / help yourself buffet although they did offer fresh eggs.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. The mother and son could not have provided a better service.
The Chateau was stunning and the rooms were huge and beautiful. John was so welcoming and happy to do anything for us.I would absolutely recommend it!

The property is very appealing and you can walk around the grounds with mature trees and parkland. Staff are very friendly. Pool was very warm in September. Good food at dinner.
The breakfast was quite basic. Tables not laid / help yourself buffet although they did offer fresh eggs.
After q long drive we were warmly welcomed and felt very at home. It felt nothing was to much trouble and the house and setting is fantastic as is its location within the Loire. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed splashing in the warn pool! Really look forward to visiting again!
mosquitos were a bit on an issue for me. My fault for leaving the windows open with the lights on. I had been forewarned by the owners!
Everything. The hosts are very friendly, the castle is gorgeous. The area is super quiet and you can enjoy some privacy. We had a large bedroom with a great view. The pool temperature is ridiculously nice. The breakfast was fabulous. We also enjoyed a great dinner in the evening. We could park our bikes easily. And we enjoyed biking around the area, and discovered the castle of Benais and the wine festival in Bourgueil.
It was perfect.
We stayed at a very large wonderful garden view bedroom. Our bed was very comfortable and room was sparkling clean. This is a beautiful house with a beautiful garden. I wish they have more eco friendly options for the room instead of one time used shampoo, plastic one used cups etc. The options give the feeling of 2 stars hotel but more environmental friendly materials will add more to this wonderful place. We had the continental breakfast. Overall we are quite happy with our stay.
Although the breakfast was good we did not enjoy our dinner. May be our expectations were higher due to the quality of the place but we did not like the food. Even the bread wasn’t fresh and starter and the main dish didn’t have much taste though We do enjoy the quality of the vine.
Friendly staff, amazing facilities, beautiful grounds, lovely room.
Quite expensive but you do get a lovely stay out of it!
Beautiful property, easy to find, friendly staff, super breakfast, excellent evening meal, amazing value for money, Lovely grounds to walk around, great pool which was very warm!
Nothing to dislike
Fantastic property and super friendly host. Pool was great, wish we could have stayed longer
brilliant location, nice and quiet, easy access to region and Saumur. Clean, calm.
The chateau is beautiful and I’d imagine the pool would be welcome in the afternoon after a day of sightseeing and wine tasting (although we did not swim). The bathroom was excellent - very large and modern whilst the room itself was big and decorated beautifully. Our hosts welcomed us in with a glass of local wine which was delicious and through the stay they checked with us multiple times that we were enjoying our stay and had everything we needed.
The stunning chateau which is clearly a labour of love by the Dutch family who own it.The superb pool and three course evening meal!
Perfect hosts! Great breakfast and evening meal.Jonathon and his family made us feel very welcome! Hope to return for another visit soon.
It’s hard to find any faults! I didn’t like having to leave, if that counts lol !!
Relaxed, lovely location, very clean. Wonderful breakfasts. Owners very hospitable, friendly, helpful. Just felt lovely place to be.
A beautiful grand old building in a good location for exploring the Loire around Saumur and Chinon. Pool was a bonus after a sunny day out and about as were the lovely evening meals.Room was well appointed and very clean with lovely vistas across the grounds from its many windows
Nothing to not like
Quiet location in large private grounds Breakfast was excellent and good valueDinner was absolutely perfectThe hosts were by far the most hospitable and welcoming we have experienced
Cannot think of anything
Great location for us when we were travelling through France to Spain. A lovely old Chateau in a very rural area, great food, large room, friendly staff and a "Dark Sky" when we were there so a magical view of the stars.
Nothing really.
