- Chateau Bourron was an exceptional experience. It is well situated for visiting key sites like Fontainebleau or Vaux le Vicomte and numerous other sites around the area. We wished we had left more time to relax and enjoy the Chateau and its beautiful surrounding park.
- We spent one night at Château-Hôtel de Bourron after visiting Fontainebleau Palace and had a really lovely stay. The grounds and buildings are beautifully kept, and the interiors have so much character. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with just the right mix of charm and comfort. The main lobby and downstairs common rooms, decorated with antiques and tapestries, made us feel like we were stepping into the château’s history. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. We wish we’d had more time to enjoy the peaceful setting before heading on our way.

This was an incredibly beautiful property. A chateau and its outbuildings. We arrived late afternoon and the sun on its walls was lovely, as were the reflections in the moat around it. After nightfall, it was beautifully lit. Decorating in the rooms was so beautiful and amenities (robe, slippers, toiletries, coffee/tee) were lovely. The common areas in the castle were also really special, with pictures of the owners and their children lovingly placed about (along with ancestors, and beautiful paintings of local scenes) and the book that the hosts provided about their family and the people who lived in the castle before them was a special touch. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was super.

On the last night of our holiday, we try to have an exceptional night. This trip, we chose Chateau-Hotel de Bourron and we were not disappointed. The historic Chateau which has been in the owner's family for many generations provides a piece of history and glamour. Like any old girl, the Chateau carries her history but carries it off with aplomb. The owners are gracious and helpful and our room was exactly what we had seen on the Chateau website. The option of having a lift to take our luggage to our third story room was a great bonus. The Chateau grounds are vast and fully invite strolling in the evening glow. The breakfast was excellent and we totally enjoyed our little slice of luxury before heading back home.
The Château is beautiful and well located. The grounds are beautifully maintained. It also has a small elevator to get to the third floor.
It could use a minibar.
Beautiful chateau. We were in an adjacent cottage which was not as charming as the house. If we were to return, I would book a room in the main house. Lovely property for strolling or riding one of the bikes they provide.
The cottage lacked character.
It was a nice stay but the breakfast and amenities are a little below the par especially for the price that we paid. It was nice to walk around and admire the chateau but that is all
Breakfast was basically croissant and baguette. No eggs, etc. and doesn’t start till late like I think 730am or 8am. No pool. Bar wasn’t open and of course no restaurant. If you don’t have a car to drive around, not sure you will be stuck there.
The stay was amazing; you could really tell they paid attention to every detail in the room. It was very beautiful and cozy, with robes, plenty of towels, and a lot of space. Everything showed a great deal of care and attention to detail. Plus, the castle itself was beautiful, and you could have breakfast, walk around, and enjoy a huge park inside the grounds. They even had bicycles for you to ride, and the restaurants were incredible. The two closest restaurants were within walking distance, and there were other amazing options as well. the staff was also very kind and always attentive.
The location and accommodation is perfect to complement a trip to the Fontainebleau! The grounds are extensive but it is easy to explore on the bikes provided. The owners are very welcoming. The rooms all have their own history, which individual decor. As is to be expected in a property like this, bathrooms are all very clean but slightly dated.Breakfasts was an extra 17 euros/ person/ day, which seemed quite expensive given there were no hot options or even boiled eggs included.
Spacious, grand, service, privacy, activities like biking, cleanliness,
Nothing - all good!
We ate breakfast in a beautiful dining room in the chateau. The tables were set for each guest and there were ample selections. Since it was off season we didn’t even see other guests. Our host greeted us each morning.
The weather was wet. So it was not possible to enjoy the beautiful grounds. Some travelers may complain about not having a hotel experience but this chateau is perfect for an independent traveler.
Perfect chateau in an excellent location on the edge of a village with restaurants and short walk away, while also offering a large secluded area to enjoy walks and bicycling. Beautifully decorated and great attention to detail. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
The chateau’s historic charm combined with modern amenities, create a perfect balance of comfort and elegance. The room was beautifully decorated, with stunning views of the garden. Breakfast room with 16th century wall tapestries was another highlight. The grounds were breathtaking, offering peaceful walks and lush gardens.
If there is one thing I can say, is that I would have preferred to have a separate bathroom, rather than a just a screen. The antique styled bathtub was beautiful though.
Beautiful setting , comfortable well appointed room and a charming host.
Nothing adverse
The main building, le Château, the nicely decorated rooms as well as the overwhelming beauty of nature!
There was nothing we did not like about the property
Unique holiday setting with probably the most comfortable beds. Bicycles offered to guests, which greatly contributed to our enjoyment of the estate. Beautiful location and wonderful hosts. Would strongly recommend.
Breakfast quite sparse for price asked. Paid extra for an additional bed but was given but a pullout couch which wasn't the best.
Comfortable , clean room. Good bed pillows and sheets.Location was very good.Breakfast a bit sparse for the price.Nice owners.
Wonderful place - an old family castle, surrounded by a big and beautiful garden. Nice staff. Very quiet and peaceful stay
Maybe reupholster some of the antique furniture, which will be more comfortable for sitting
Magnificent setting, beautifully manicured gardens and lovely accommodation.
Very little- note for other travellers there is no TV
