Hotel Aguiar da Pena

Very welcoming reception and lovely popular restaurant. We four seniors really enjoyed our stay, comfortable rooms, safe environment, free onsite parking and a great dinner in hotel restaurant which is obviously popular with the local community!

Leaving after just one night stay!

The lady on reception was extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms were fine, nice and clean. The swimming pool area was pleasant and the one evening meal we had was very good indeed.

Breakfast was adequate but not the best, breakfast staff not very interested. We were planning on a hotel dinner on the Sunday evening but disappointed that the restaurant is closed on Sundays (and one other night). We ate in the local town but not good, no proper restaurants locally.

I thoroughly enjoyed my fleeting 24-hour stay at this lovely little family hotel.Before I arrived, I must have driven them absolutely crazy with my constant date changes, but they were so patient and kind. And when I did arrive, I was stupidly early, but they gave me an early check-in – of course they did! The room was spotlessly clean with a balcony with wonderful views over this special little town. Sitting there at night looking at the lights from far and wide was such a pleasure.The pool was delightful and a suntrap, with ample sunbeds when I was there. Vila Pouca de Aguiar was bustling and fun during the day, but very quiet at night in early September. I loved it, though.I had a mid-afternoon bus and requested a late check-out which – of course – was readily granted. I was allowed to stay until 3pm, which was incredibly generous. A family-owned business which is surely the best place to stay in the town.

In order to give us a quiet room as requested and as the hotel wasn't full our room was put between two empty ones.Very helpful staffWe ate some very tender meat in the restaurant at the side

Very nice, quite hotel, and nice swimming pool. The breakfast was good, though a bit limited (no pastries). This hotel is a good option for those planning to go to Pena Aventura.

Unfortunately, the breakfast selection was very poor, but the kind staff and cleanliness made up for it.

a great hotel that is wonderfully positioned overlooking the valley and cute little town. Helpful staff just want to please and everything is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant is a nice place to be with some really good food that tends to attract the locals especially on a Sunday.

Great service, good breakfast and good location not far from the center. Indoor garage for my motorcycle was a nice bonus. The staff is super friendly, didn't use the pool but looks great.

Room (especially the bathroom) looks a bit dated, but it's just a styling remark - otherwise clean and functional.

Very quiet and very comfortable hotel

I've stayed here twice. Really like this hotel.
