    Pros +

    • We had an amazing stay here. We had had a long ride in the heat and were welcomed with a beer from the bar. The Manager is a lovely guy and couldn't be more helpful. We had the dinner option which was really nice as was the breakfast with an excellent choice. The rooms are really large which gives that more luxurious feel. Easy to find and safe bike parking.
    • Nice local hotel to boom festival. Clean rooms nearby grocery store and laundry facilities make this place easy to stay. Lucia at front desk always friendly and very helpful when I wanted to extend. Breakfast was better than others in the area. Also friendly older gentlemen who works at the bar in the middle of the night always gives me good service
    • Good bed and pillows. Nice breakfast for the price.

    Cons -

    • They charge to use their hydrotherapy pool. And it’s only open certain hours.
    • Lobby near the lift zone was dark. Can someone install a light there? Also the access to the rooms on the top floor was badly illuminated. Toilets with some hairs on the floor at arrival. Door of the room difficult to close. Air conditioning was powered off on the circuit breaker (on my 2 rooms). I had to go to electric board to power it on. Dinner prices are high (25€ per person)
    • The floor of the room had sunk and the wall was raised, so air, light and above all a lot of noise came in from the next room. It was like having no privacy at all because if you looked through the separation between the floor and the wall, you could see/hear the next room.

    Good price

    staff extra nice and helpfull

Air conditioner not working properlyset on hot when it worked extractor fan in bathroom not working and shower floor very slippery.

    4ChrisPosted on: 10-20-2024

    Large room, clean and tidy.

Dated, dark, bad furniture / decor etc etc, really bad typically old Portugese style, low low quality breakfast only thing that was healthy were the nuts, no salad, olives etc.

    5LissPosted on: 9-30-2024

The room were big, every room had a small balcony, the breakfast was very good.

It was a bit far from the center of the small city. There were two plastic ghairs on the balconies. The chairs could have been in at better quality, ant there should have been a small table. We really missed a nice place to stay/sit outside, like lounges or something, and a pool. The area outside is really big, so there is plenty of oppurtunity for the hotel to create a great area outside. The hotel looked more interesting than it was, and was a bit of at disappointment for us.

Lovely hotel views to die for. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Choice for breakfast is mind blowing spoilt for choice Room was perfect, large bed and bathroom luxuries.

Shame swimming pool was indoor, was too hot for me with breathing difficulties

    The room

The breakfast schedule , composition and refill. Also, the staff should inform when there are party events with noise and provide some bonus for that

    10RebeccaPosted on: 8-12-2024

The hotel was clean and a lovely building. The location was stunning with lovely views from our balcony. The reception staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful even helping when one of us was poorly. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

    7JamesPosted on: 8-9-2024

Large, clean well appointed rooms, with the added bonus of a balcony overlooking the gardens. Plenty of parking spaces.

Use of the spa was a fairly hefty €35 a day, per person. Fine if you are intending to spend the when day there. Not so good if you are after a quick swim and sauna.

    10VazPosted on: 8-9-2024

I loved the architecture of the building. The rooms are very comfortable, and the food is very good. The pool is very nice too.

It was very hot in the area.

    6CarlosPosted on: 7-19-2024

The location and the way the staff solved some issues.

There was no working phone. The air conditioner was broken, but our request to change room was respected.

    7RubenPosted on: 6-3-2024

Staff were excellent and location was where we wanted it. Rooms were clean.

Elevators out of service. Breakfast was not that good. Spa area needs maintenance as does some areas of the hotel. No mini fridge in my room.

    5StuartPosted on: 5-5-2024

Penamacore is beautiful, the people are amazing, staff spoke English. The breakfast was amazing, lots to choose from, large supermarket 10 minutes tops walk. Did not use spa facilities. Looked good but expensive

Extractor fan wasn't working in our bathroom, we asked for a different room, but all rooms had this problem. Parts of the shower tray was broken, there is a pool table which was bad, tips of the cues was totally broken, €5 per hour. NOT 4 STAR!!

Good but not what i booked

I booked a double room and they only had twin rooms... in the end they gave me the only double room they had left in the whole property. One they assumedly said to me that they do not rent and it is only for internal use...

Beautiful setting. Superb staff, happy, helpful, and accommodating in all areas, reception, housekeeping, and hospitality.

One soap dispenser in bathroom. No facilities to make hot drinks. TV rather outdated and small

    7PeterPosted on: 9-1-2023

Very good value for a 4☆ hotel ,comfortable bed and lots of variety for the breakfast

    Outside area needs some TLC

    8KeithPosted on: 8-25-2023

Very Friendly staff. Can’t do enough to help you. Rooms were really clean. Being so hot outside room temp was perfect

No tea or coffee facilities in room. It would be a nice touch

    4DianaPosted on: 8-23-2023

The room is confortable and clean.

The use of the pool is very very expensive. The staff is not diligent and efficient, most of the times there is no one at the reception and we had to ask several times for an extra chair before being attended. We didn't feel welcome and the value for money is very poor.
