    Pros +

    • Great location, great staff, great vibe and great food. Julien was especially helpful as a waiter, host and chauffeur, as was Ludevine who was really and welcoming and always smiling. I will definitely come back again. Thanks guys!!
    • Staff were outstanding, especially a young lady called Anna , never stopped smiling
    • Breakfast was ok, no hot food which we would have liked. Skiing in Flaine was excellent, good choice of runs and lots of lifts. The hotel was clean and spa area very enjoyable after a day's skiing.

    Cons -

    • Location was not good. The hotel was on a mountain, next to a red run and offered no shuttle in the evenings to the lifts to the town, despite the previous feedback from customers who were offered free shuttle lifts - I think this did happened a few years ago under different management, but not now. On our first day, we were directed to walk down a red run past skiers to collect our ski equipment from the town. This was dangerous and not what we expected. The hotel staff told us it would take 5 minutes, but in fact it was a good 20 minute walk. On one occasion in the evening, on our walk back along the mountain in the snow, we were not told about the dangerous piste machines which were going up and down the slopes and we almost had a dangerous incident with one of them. The hotel should have warned us about this.Limited food choices in the evening, although when we had dinner one evening, the food and service was good. There were no private showers in the rooms, despite us requesting this for our teenage children. The shower has a clear glass see through door into the main bedroom, so it's not possible to have a shower in private. This is not acceptable when you have teenage children sharing a room. We did request this on booking the room several months ago and were asked to state our request a few days before our trip. We did this, but received no reply and we had to make arrangements for our children to have a private shower which wasn't idea.
    • Evening menu limited and no longer offered a lift across the slopes to other bars/restaurants. We ate in for 3 nights and would have paid for a lift
    • Having to walk across slope at night but often we got a lift in skidoo. Having to get luggage out so early in order to get skidoo not great

The location is perfect for ski in and ski out. Our son is only 5 and spent most of his time on bunny slopes but was able to ski down himself. You can also walk to the village or use a free lift when open (or ask for a drop off/pick up by a snowmobile when lifts are closed). They also help with your luggage and ski equipment - there is an additional discount if using a specific ski shop and they are very accommodating there as well. The hotel staff is super attentive and goes out of their way to help. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, you got everything you needed and all ingredients were of great quality. The jacuzzi was also a great feature even though it was a touch too hot for us and our son enjoyed the board games/toys in the restaurant/bar area.

The rooms are compact even though they are very stylish, clean and offer plenty of storage. The only thing I was missing was a mirror in front of the dressing table as our mirror was only directly by the sink. But this is very much a personal preference and might be just our specific room.

Location, Sauna, Hot Tub, Food and staff are all excellent

Stylish property with rooms of a very good size and a bar restaurant that are of the highest standards! We stayed in ski season so the heated boot room and ski storage for this ski in/out property were fantastic. The spa and sauna was a treat after a long day on the slope! Highly recommend!

The only small downside was breakfast was very limited and could have had more options.

The Lapiaz Hotel is very well presented, clean, tidy and has great facilities. The spa and hot tub are perfect for relaxing after a day on the pistes. The rooms are comfortable and stylish. Breakfast is good, with a small selection of cereals, pastries, yoghurt, fruit and eggs on offer. I would highly recommend eating in the restaurant in the evening, whilst the menu is limited, the food cooked is excellent. This is a true ski in / ski out hotel, with a short red piste as you leave in the morning. Going into Flaine Forum is manageable and you have a choice of two routes; 1. the adventurous can careful walk down the edge of the red piste, and cross over into the back of the Forum, 2. you can head up towards Le Bissac and walk towards Flaine Foret past the magic carpet adjacent to the leaner slope. Towards the farthest end of the Forum there is a lift between Flaine Forum and Flaine Foret. The 2nd route is the easiest way back to the hotel at night.

The shower in the bedroom is very quirky, maybe not an issue for couples but not ideal for others. The addition of a privacy film on the glass would be a significant improvement. As with every hotel in the alps, there is a lack of hangers in the wardrobe.

    Location is exceptional

Breakfast was ok but could use more selection, such as more fresh fruits. The coffee could use significant improvement.

Beautiful place, ski-in and ski-out. Much friendlier and more helpful staff than when we visited two years ago.

Need more variety for evening meals. Limited access to town.

    9AlexeyPosted on: 8-26-2024

Fabulous location, very quiet but not too far from village, close to cable car.

    8MilošPosted on: 8-6-2024

Breakfast was nice; I would expect that when the hotel is full, the variety will be higher. The room was spacious. The sauna was nice and clean. The location is perfect as a starting point for the trip to the mountains.

There is no space in the SPA for calm rest after the sauna. There is no private space to have a shower after the sauna.People sitting in the jacuzzi and those living in room nr.9 (I think) when going out of the room have a nice view of your nude body during showering. The jacuzzi was woody and did not look nice inside as the wood was looking like covered with mold. This is probably due to the incompatibility of wood with highly chlorinated hot water.

Very good breakfast with good variety and timing.Wonderful views of the mountainsSpacious sauna and cedar spa bath, big enough for 6 people.Small scale and good family atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and took trouble to meet our needs. They picked us up in the snow cat with our luggage. The whole hotel was thoughtfully designed with high quality materials.Secure external ski store and boot store where Proski delivered hired equipment.

Difficult to get and from the hotel between 830am and 5.30pm when the snow cat was not allowed to operate. Therefore It meant walking on snow for about 150m, across red or green ski pistes. So, difficult for non skiers to access the hotel, but the staff helped as much as possible

Stylish, comfortable rooms. Wonderful views. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Decent sauna.

    9VictoriaPosted on: 3-27-2024

Beautifully decorated. Exceptionally beautiful location on the slopes. Most of the staff were fantastic especially Juliet and Etienne. We were a little concerned about the walk to and from Flaine but it was okay but I recommend walking boots!

There was a bit of confusion on when breakfast was being served. Would have liked additional towels for the spa and bath robes in the room

Excellent location and restaurantStaff very friendly and helpful

    9AndrewPosted on: 2-24-2024

The location is amazing, literally on the slopes so genuine ski in / ski out. It is on a small red run (not that hard) so you need to be able to cope with that and only accessible by snow mobile when the slopes are shut (roughly before 830am and after 530pm). Great service in that we hired ski gear at a discount from their linked hire place ProSki in the lower Flaine Forum, we were there in the afternoon so could leave bags there and the ski gear which were delivered to the hotel. Same service when leaving, able to just leave ski gear in the hotel, really helpful! Hence our timing of arriving in the afternoon to sort out ski gear and explore set up before skiing following day worked well, as well as leaving in the morning after breakfast. Able to use hot tub / sauna after skiing and good food in the restaurant, though we mainly ate on the slopes during the day. Choice of twin beds good as there with daughter. Perfect hotel if your focus is mainly skiing, I was there with teenage daughter so worked really well. Staff were really friendly, relaxed and accommodating while not being ‘in your face’ so the best combination for me, atmosphere pretty laid back. Food is good, breakfast continental and same each day but was a good enough selection for us. Nice relaxed bar area with stocked bar, half board we utilised once and had a classic Alps cheese fest!Resort is mainly family friendly which worked for me and you are able to ski across the Grand Massif, though we found Flaine had plenty for a 5 day trip and had the snow due to altitude - an increasingly important point these days as Les Carroz lower down had none despite it being February! You can of course ski to the hotel and have a break there during the day and relax, given it is on one of the runs.

The hotel is not luxury but perfectly comfortable, room not large - shower was in the corner of the room so one had to hide in the toilet or go to the bar / hot tub to allow the other to shower! Not a big deal. Got woken up in the night time by snow ploughs clearing the slopes, a symptom of staying literally on the slopes, so you might want ear plugs if you are a light sleeper like me. If you want to go out in Flaine, it is a trek over the snow, though I am sure you could prearrange a lift. That said, Flaine is relatively quiet and not a big apres ski place. As there on family trip, not a big deal.Hotel fairly quiet apart from a big party Saturday night, though this stopped at midnight. The access for bags etc. only being outside of ski hours requires planning for when you arrive / leave and a bit of fitness to access or go out, though it is best suited for those at Flaine to mainly ski, so not a big issue for us. Ended up getting a taxi from Geneva to Flaine at EUR450 return through hotel contact, as was too late to book the bus - this actually was really easy especially compared to the bus to Val D’Isere the year before (1.25 hours compared to 7 hours! Though one was during week and the other peak weekend). With more advance planning could secure the bus - Flaine is easier to reach than other resorts, higher for better snow and Geneva has a good variety of flights from the UK.

    The staff and the decor

Our room (room 10) was very public, right next to hotel main back door, so we had to keep the curtain shut the whole time. Limited evening menu
