    Pros +

    • Charming hotel run by charming, friendly people. Ideally located close to the motorway, nice restaurant with homemade food and a great breakfast. We liked it so much here we cancelled the hotel booked for our return journey and came back again. If you’re tall or wide, go for one of the bigger rooms … my husband had a nasty incident with the metal toilet roll holder! Free parking right outside the hotel in a quiet residential area.
    • the breakfast and the lovely garden, the quiet village location
    • Quiet location but only a short distance to Quedlinburg. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. So much choice

    Cons -

    • When we first arrived in the evening of our stay, the room was not prepared for 3 sleepers as we'd requested prior to our arrival; the bedside tables were dusty; there was only one single hook for hanging towels in the bathroom; the shower curtain would not reach all the way down, so the bathroom floor was wet all over after a shower; there was no room-keeping during our stay - it would have cost extra (8,- EUR). Also, the pool is not connected to the building, so getting in and out can be a pretty chilly experience.
    • Rooms a bit dated and bathroom very small but who is really staying at a hotel to be in the room?
    • A fridge would have been great but hotel has a self service drinks dispenser in main lobby with variety of cold drinks available at any time.

Nicely run small hotel.Breakfast was very good.Garden for dinner and for beer/wine was perfect, also for a game of cards.

Rooms a bit dated and bathroom very small but who is really staying at a hotel to be in the room?

Charming little country hotel with tastefully decorated comfortable rooms, a good restaurant and pretty gardens with own small pool. Reasonable price given location and all amenities. Outside terrace and beer garden. Friendly and helpful staff! Situated in a quiet village just off road , minutes from Thale central it has all the benefits of being close to.all amenities in Thale without the bustle! ..I stayed in the "Gästehaus" annexe area which is very dog friendly and there are nice quiet walks immediately around hotel. Would have stayed a few more nights gif it hadn't been fully booked!

A fridge would have been great but hotel has a self service drinks dispenser in main lobby with variety of cold drinks available at any time.

Room was clean. Good breakfest with different kind of things to try. Around building was a little garden that will look great at summer. Very good communication with personel in reception in english. Good place to stay !

Excellent location for exploring all the attractions around Blankenberg. The hotel grounds have interesting features for children by day and cosy corners for adults to gather in the evening. Good food in the restaurant, reasonably priced. Extensive breakfast buffet with everything you could possibly want. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent value.

Parking inside and safe. Breakfast generally good. Much to choose from. Nice garden connected to the hotel. Staff was friendly. Good it is a restaurant at site. Ok food. Quiet area.

Our room was small. Bathroom so small with nearly no place to sit at toilet, really NOT comfortable. It was small animals (ants?), a lot of them at a table in breakfast room nearly the food. Not apetittly. Price for dinner was a little bit too high given quality you got, and amount of food. Much better and cheaper other places in Germany, same price range payment hotel. Didn't like we did not see any witches flying around. That would made my day, given the reputation this ares has about witches (Hexen)..

The garden is amazing and the food as well and the robot kitty is just funny

Friendly people, nice bar. The location is allright at the edge of the Harz.

The village is nice but small. Therefore eating at the hotel is the only nearby option. Still: it was good food. And the pool is hardly a pool. Apart from that, very nice place.

Good tasty breakfast and a clean room for fair price. Good value for money.

Very nice owner (?), Good internet, restaurant onsite, very nice inner area, fridge with drinks (for a fee)

Breakfast buffet had lots of choice all fresh, evening meals had great depth of flavour, hosts so welcoming and helpful despite our minimal german we felt really looked after. So much to do and see in local area with a relaxing base to return too, fully recommend.

Excellent hotel, cosy, clean, calm and comfortable. Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice and big room.

The only thing which was not good is internet connection. Poor wifi, especially when your room is away from the reception.

Lovely staff, clean room, comfortable, gardens were amazing with lots of space and activities.

It was a very pleasant 2 nights stay at this lovely hotel for us as a coulpe. We went to visit the mountains in the area. It was just a short weekend getaway, we had a good time. The place has a nice charm to it and a big bonus is that they have a restaurant with delicious dinner and lovely service. The breakfast was very good, the accomodation excellent. Clean room, nice and quiet area, comfy bed. Thanks for a lovely weekend. We might come back with the boys.

The room was cosy and clean.

The staff was below par. We arrived late, there was no reception. We didn't know the system, how the key box works, but even though we wrote and asked several times, they didn't answer, not even through the booking. We called them several times and tried to communicate in both English and German, as we did not know the room number or the key box code. They simply did not want to communicate with us, they hung up the phone while asking questions. They kept asking for my bank card number, but everything is officially given on booking, and booking doesn't even allow me to send the number in a message due to data protection. Finally, after several attempts, they roughly described what was waiting for us at the door and what the room number was. The lady at the reception was nice the next morning, but we left with a very bad taste in our mouths. We travel a lot, elsewhere they send the data the day before and they don't mess with it.

It is a very nice an quiet place to stay. The breakfast was really good, complete and with a few surprises.Very friendly woman, who even wanted to help us when she heard about our humanitarian reason for the visit in the hotel.

friendly service, classic hotel room, quiet and scenic location, near town center by driving or bus, and local bus is free. may visit again.

A ļovely place to stop over or use as a base to explore the area.I've stayed here a few times now and impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the rooms.

Wifi is not very reliable in the rooms
