    Pros +

    • We loved being right in the old town. There is no a/con so was a bit warm, also no fans. I also imagine it could be very noisy in the busy times, when you need the window open for any breeze.
    • One of those absolutely special and unique stays. An overnight stay on the Fairytale Route in a 16th century building. The lovely breakfast including home made ham, salami, preserves and other goodies was sensational and another unique experience. Free parking right out the front and a lovely morning spent wandering this tiny town was like being transported back 500 years. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
    • Only the location for those on cycling holiday.

    Cons -

    • A fan as it was really quite warm.
    • I was warned about hitting my head on the 16th century doors but I still managed to do it. Of course, that's my fault. :)
    • No other guests so the service was poor.

Cozy historical building from ye old times in the town square where occasional traders sell local goods. We had the (double) front facing room with walls, doors (Tiny doorways) ceiling all at different angles adding to the sense mystic, fun and character (careful not to bump your head). Owners also sell selected homemade Venison products, not cheap but super yummy

Just feel well in a beautiful house from 1589, Fachwerk-style.

The food is good, and please do not forget to buy some local food when you leave.Well located right in the town centre next to the City Hall opposite to the Tourist information centre, sited right along the beautiful street.Highly recommended for the people who loves the life.

I liked the convenient location and easy parking. We had a key to come in whenever we chose.

this was an old 14th c. house so the floors was slanted.

    Location.

Limited breakfast - a buffet would have been appreciated, as would have GOOD black tea.Too many difficult stairs but that is the price for a historic building.

Right in the middle of this little village. We stayed for one night at the start of our drive up the Fairytale Route. Gorgeous old historical building and our room overlooked the main square. Everything is on the wonk and very quaint. Comfy, clean and basic facilities.

We stayed in August and pretty much everything in the village was closed. No local restaurant was open, so we bought some bits from the local supermarket for a hotel bed picnic

Good size rooms and a comfy bed. Friendly owner who met us and showed us around the property.

    Great location

Sparsely furnished room. Uncomfortable single beds

Unique 1570 house - quaint but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Frau Holle was an exceptional host. lovely shop with lots of different types of goods. A very quiet position in a beautiful setting.

The location is perfect! We enjoyed being able to walk across the square to the town hall, church, and castle. The breakfast was nice and we liked being able to shop in the store. The room was very comfortable and the house was overall beautiful and interesting.

We arrived at the check in time, at noon, but nobody was there so we had to wait a couple of hours to be let in. The breakfast was very nice but a bit more variety would be appreciated.

Lovely spacious, comfortable room in a beautiful historical building, friendly and helpful host, great breakfast, beautiful location, parking in front.

Steinau is beautiful, but everything is closed the first week of January and nobody updates their websites. It's a beautiful town, but doesn't have a lot of restaurants or bars.

The location was excellent. it is a very old building with all of the issues that very old buildings have. That made it prefect. My room over looked the square, had uneven floors, was not squared, a narrow staircase and an add on type bathroom, all of that add great charm.

Beautiful quiet hotel in a great location and the receptionist was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and our room overlooked a beautiful open space. Our breakfast was served outside our room in a cosy open space and was substantial. Great attention to detail.

location great, historical building in centre of town.comfortable room with character.

    10MichaelPosted on: 10-21-2022

We liked the location being in the center of the town.

It was a hard walk from our parking place to the inn.
