The Berggasthof Banzer Wald has views of Banz Abbey, the Staffelberg mountain and the Lautertal valley. Some rooms provide free internet access. The hotel is a 25-minute walk from Bad Staffelstein's train station. Guests enjoy good rail and road links throughout Upper Franconia.

Nicely located at the bottom of Banz. Welcome water in the room and coffee/tea available at any time day or night was highly appreciated.
Nice hotel. Large modern clean rooms. Excellent Breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons -

The name Berggasthof implies Gasthof services, however food service is limited to breakfast buffet and Sunday lunch. No restaurant service for lunch or dinner already since 2022. Alternative food service is available at restaurant in town (car needed), but closed on Sundays eve! The room windows should be fitted with bug screens, to avoid guests being eaten alive during warm Sommer nights trying to sleep with open windows.
The WiFi was not available in my room. I was able to get good connectivity in a common area, but the signal in the room would not support anything requiring 10Mbs or better. This was not as advertised.
