    Pros +

    • Wonderfully renovated house in Socolari, in one of the best areas to stay if you want to visit around Cheile Nerei and Lacul Ochiul Beiului. The breakfast is very good with local healthy food and the food in general is good and with very fast service.Very nice yard in which you can enjoy the silence and the fresh air while sipping wine.Definitely a place to recommend.
    • Location is near Ochiu Bei and other objectives. Food is tasty and hosts are friendly. Also parking place at property. It is easy to find it being on the main street. Restaurant at property.
    • The staff was welcoming, the service was nice, the room exactly as described, a family studio for 4 people. It was a beautiful experience!

    Cons -

    • The rooms could have been a little bit cleaner, especially the bathroom. The house on the inside seems to be constructed in quite an amateur way.
    • Room is not cleaned every day. (Garbage is not cleaned inside room during staying). WI-Fi is poor. Door locking mechanism was broken.

Perfect location, in an idyllic village, even if a bit hard to reach due to the bad roads.

fine details the owner contributed with.nice common areas.personal touch

not good for trespassing. far away from all roads. good to spend at least 3-4 days there but not one night like I did. Also, bit more care for guests from the staff side. a bit left alone…

The accomodation is beautiful - comfortable and tastefully decorated, with a charming central courtyard. Nice hot shower, comfortable bed. 12 minutes in the car from the start of some great hikes. The village is beautiful - traditional Romanian houses, winding little streets to explore. Staff were friendly, good sense of humour.

Finding good food was difficult in the village and we spent quite a lot of time hungry! When we arrived, there was noone at the accommodation and we had to ask locals to phone them for us. When staff arrived, they seemed surprised we were there and had not been expecting us. They told us they would not be able to make us dinner. The only option nearby was a fast-food cafe, which was not what we wanted to eat while in Romania. We were offered gulash the next evening, which was delicious but a very small portion for 9 euros (more expensive than London!). We had been hiking for 8 hours and wanted to enjoy a big meal. The next evening, we drove 25 minutes to Oravitsa, the nearby town, to eat in a restaurant because we did not want to be hungry again. If we had known about the food situation, we would have booked self catering accommodation. The internet connection in our room was also very bad.

A very nice location, with clean and beautiful gardens, clean room and clean surroundings. All the staff is very friendly, they make you feel like home. You have free parking next to the building and location is pet friendly (we travelled with a dog). I would highly recommend this place.

One point to be mentioned, in regards of outside surroundings: village stray dogs are making a lot of noise during the night, this could be disturbing for some people. They are not aggressive or dangerous though.

Everything marvellous! We have been dilighted! The combination of old traditional and modern renovation is excelent. The central lobby and library are breathtaking! And stylish. We will return defenitly in this cozy corner of silence and confort!

    There is nothing to comment.

    Design of the place.

No heat in rooms. We froze at night. Checkout is at 12 on booking, when you reach there they say it's 11 and a woman wakes you up at 10:45 to make sure( this happened when we were the only guests at the place, no guests coming that day either). First thing they said after we came out of the room was "pay up", a good morning was too much to ask i guess. Only one item on food menu so make sure you pack food.

    The stay was pleasant.

Staff didn't seemed to be fully involved, especially in the mornings.
