Pros +
- The spa, the comfortable bed, there was Netflix on the TV
- decent rooms, decent restaurant with a very nice view, decent spa
- Room size was small and also, not even a coffee, which I did get in 3 stars hotel. Lightning was very poor.
Cons -
- There wasn't a normal lamp in the room, only night light, so it was quite dark. In the restaurant there wasn't any plant-based milk, tough I thought that would be normal, as a 4 star hotel, and there weren't small spoons either, we had ask for them, and the food was quite cold at dinner, even though we went in time. Some waitresses didn't understand neither Romanian, nor English.
- Very very slow elevators, so slow that i prefer to go on stairs. When it's crawded there are kids all over the spa, even in that area where only above 16 it is allowed.
- Size of the room, lightning was extremely poor.

Bacolux Afrodita in Herculane is a great choice for a relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The spa and wellness facilities are excellent, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the thermal waters. The restaurant offers a good variety of dishes, and the staff were polite and attentive throughout our stay. The location is ideal for exploring Băile Herculane and its natural beauty. Overall, as always, we had a very pleasant experience and we'll always return.
The spa area is really nice. Endless pools with mineral water. Probably seven or eight types of saunas, including a Russian-style Hercules sauna with temperatures around 90 to 100 degrees Celsius. There’s plenty of space to sit or lie down and relax. The view from the rooms is also quite good.Overall, a pleasant experience — but don’t expect it to feel like a true four-star hotel.
This hotel is, first and foremost, a spa resort. Most guests come for the spa, not the rooms. The hotel is fairly maintained, but the building is old. Everything works, but don’t expect anything new or modern. The elevator can be a problem, especially during breakfast hours. If your room is on a high floor and stairs are not an option, this might be annoying.Parking is limited. You may need to park a bit away and walk to your car.
Very good hotel and facilities, very nice view and Herculane town si really nice you have the thermal baths and the mountain. The massage prices have increased considerably and some of the breakfast products could be improved, overall this hotel is the best in the area.
Reception Personal was great THANK YOU. The SPA is fabulous one of the best. Good food in the restaurant a la carte.
PArking was a mess, but it was a holiday, so maybe there is an excuse.
Spa, playing area

- good spa, special pools for kids with heated water- breakfast was ok- would come again
- no espresso machine in room, not many tea options (wife had to pay 30 lei at the bar for 3 tea bags)- they have some toy machine for kids although they are expensive to use (10 lei for a coin)- overall baile Herculane hasnt changed at all, nothing to do outside the hotel
Excellent SPA, they have all kind of pools and hot tubs, separate for children, at different temperatures, many inside and one outside, more saunas, relaxing booths and a salt room.In the evening they have entertainers and music at the restaurant. The menu was average. The chef was from Sri Lanka, so be aware, he cooks more spicier than you expect.
They have 3 elevators, but „dumb” ones. They should install a smart controller, so you can indicate your direction and shorten the waiting time. You can't have a couple's massage, I mean in the same time, because they have only one massager per specialty. The parking is small for such a big hotel, we had to park the car in the street.
The pools and spa are brilliant. I liked that the chef was welcoming us at breakfast and dinner. All employees were helpful and very nice. The view from the rooms is amazing, you can see the mountains even if the room is on the lower floor.
Only 3 elevators are available, making it very crowded (sometimes waiting time is long), but I guess this is normal as the hotel is quite old (but refurbished)
It was the shittiest hotel that I have visited since a no name 2 stars hotel in Serbia
The rating of the hotel cannot be 4 stars. The rooms are small and poorly decorated, with obvious mistakes in arranging the tiles in the bathroom or the plywood on the walls. The worst thing was the lack of cleanness in the room. The carpets, the tiles and the wood were stained with paint, cement and dirt. The bathrooms had mold in the showers and the toilets bowls were stained with rust. The normal paper that announces that the toilet was sanitized was missing. Based on the look of the bed sheets, I'm pretty sure that they were the same used by the previous guests and there were strains of hair between them. I have requested that one of the rooms is exchanged with another one, as the cleaning stuff declared that they cannot remove the mold from the bathroom (also, one bottle of cheap cleaning agent for bathrooms will not remove the mold), but after waiting 2 hour for the staff to clean the new room, it took me 5 seconds to pinpoint the mold in the bathroom of the new room. Also, the reaction of the staff to the problems reported was very slow, as they had some event organized for the employees. While this is nice, in a 4 stars hotel it cannot be a reason to keep your guests on hold. All in all, I have cancelled my stay and I'm still waiting to get my money back (it is a first for me that in a 4 star hotel I have to pay for my rooms in advance). As a summary, I do not know how this hotel got a 4 star certification, because any 3 star hotel in west of Romania is luxurious by comparison.
The room was very small and also the bathroom.too much time waiting for lift , the water in the swimming pool wasn’t thermal and no enough parking places for all clients
The room was clean, the breakfast was varied, the SPA was far beyond expectations.
From our point of view, there was too much noise at the a la carte restaurant (at dinner).
Room was very nice and clean , except for one toilet paper that had some dirt on it. Very nice restaurants and good food . The spa is amazing.
One toilet paper had some dirt on it
pools and view, friendly cleaning staff
bathroom smelled slightly like cigarette smoke
Swimming pool
Smelly bathroom, noisy rooms (can hear the next room neighbour), elevators not synchronised you need to wait 10 min just to go to breakfast, no street lights, if the sun is out you need a flashlight to get to the hotel.
The breakfast was very good with plenty of options available, we appreciated the diversity. There's a separate restaurant where you can have dinner also. The spa was great with lots of sauna options, some jacuzzies, too bad not all the facilities were working.
It says there is free parking but the parking is too small for the hotel's capacity so when we arrived the parking was full, we had to park on the street outside and pay for parking. It wasn't expensive but it's misleading.
Everything related to rooms, spa-pool facilities, even the restaurant.
The terrace, which could be more in-line and new, with/as the rest of the hotel.
The bed was so comfortable that we went home and bought a new mattress! Also the spa was awesome, lots of sauna options, nice pool, quite a few jacuzzis. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely. The breakfast was good, lots of options and hot food. Seemed to be a popular hotel there were lots of people there.
When we booked it said there was free parking but when we arrived the car park was full and the receptionist told us they only have car parking spaces for 40% of the rooms. So we had to park on the street outside and pay for parking. It wasn't too expensive but it's misleading that free parking was advertised. Also, for such a big hotel there was one functioning elevator so there were constantly queues for it. The decor in the rooms was also a bit dated but the bed was super comfy.
