    Pros +

    • The location is just amazing, next to the Saarschleife. Very quiet and green place. The staff is friendly and tries to solve your issues. It’s a shame that a really great initiative is executed this poorly.
    • Great location with an original rooms-suites concept for fit people with a good restaurant and service. Ideal for getting up with the sun and enjoying outdoor life closing of with a good meal for a fair price.
    • LocationCleanlinessSize of rooms and amenities

    Cons -

    • The houses are very close to each other, it’s easy to peak into the other cabin and there are no curtains. Privacy is not a strong side of this place. Also the wooden cabins crack the whole time, quite loud. You wake up few times in the night due to a loud cracking sound of the wood.
    • Maybe because our stay was early spring but the outdoor facilities could do with a little extra care. Also in the rooms and on the terrasses you can see the "love and eye" for keeping it in perfect shape is missing. No curtains so bring your sleep masks.
    • our stay was too short

This was an amazing find for our stop over to Bavaria, beautiful, peaceful location, very warm friendly welcome by all staff. The food was excellent; we had the set menu on our first night, and on the way back we stayed again and had the special Valentine's menu and they catered for our son. We had the Geniesser studio which was very clean and spacious. Would highly recommend; can't wait to come back. Thank you to all at Saarschleifenlodge.

    our stay was too short

the location, the accommodation in small houses.Beautiful view if the sky in the night thanks to the window positioned over the (very comfortable) bed.

Was not perfectly clean, found the garbage of previous tenant still in the apartment, found hair in the bathroom.

The location was beautiful, calm, perfect for a weekend for two. The brakfast was good and the staff was nice.

The only thing we would change, was having the heat on before we arrived, because the cabin took a while to warm up.

The location has a nice view. The bed is comfortable.

It’s a hotel for local guests, apparently. Not a single word of English, not so friendly staff. We arrived at 8pm, the guy that greeted us said that if we needed something to drink, we had to go to the restaurant and ask for it. At 8:30pm we went down to buy water because the room doesn’t even have a glass to serve tap water. It was already closed. So, no way to drink water or anything. The rooms have no TV because it’s a place for “digital detox”. You can only hang clothes on the wall, if you have folded clothes and kids stuff, you have to keep it in your suitcase…. and so on… :(

It was in a beautiful valley overlooking the river, it was quite and peaceful

No restaurant it was closedWas told the hotel was closed after we’d bookedNo curtains or blinds up the windows in room

Very peaceful setting. Easy after hours check-in.

Family room needs a microwave like the loft rooms.

The location was spectacular and the concept of the rustic lodges was also excellent.

The restaurant/bar which we thought was a selling feature was closed for undisclosed reasons both nights we stayed, which was really a shame. The breakfast was very average and the second day there was just one staff managing the whole breakfast session and we were asked to pay for any coffee orders other than black coffee.

    Staff approachable and helpful

Dinner was fixed menu, and rather disappointing.

Serene, spectacularly beautiful location right on the river bank, surrounded by a forest. Beautifully decorated, practically furmished rooms. Friendly stuff, great breakfast.

It was a blessing in disguise to stay at the Saarschleifenlodge when at check out, it turned out that due the heavy rain the only access road to the lodge was flooded - we could not leave and we were forced to stay another day. Luckily all the staff handled this super well and took really good care of us. We weren't even charged for the forced extra night, even if they easily could have done so. An outstanding example of hospitality as it should be, I would recommend everyone to stay here - also for the nice clean rooms, great food and drinks, amazing scenery, beautiful hikes and 'end of the world' feel of the place. Amazing value for money.

The bathroom was slightly small, the pillows could be more comfortable and we did not haev curtains in the room. But there were really just minor annoyances.

Great Place to stay, beautiful location, view on the river. The room was super stylish and comfortable.

    Everything was good

Lovely location, very cosy and nicely planned out

More cushions on the bench would make it more comfortable , but that would be a plus

    6GeorgePosted on: 12-7-2023

location very nice, staff friendly and helpful, except for arrival date, no one around.

Saarhaus cabin was super cold at arrival. No heat turned on in advance, took till 4 am in the morning to have some heat going, not very pleasant in those wet cold fall temperatures in Germany. Some of the kitchen equipment was missing or not working. Should be checked by staff members before guests arrive, just simple things.

    Very nice rooms.

Breakfast can be improved. First morning it was a bit busy so lots of things were missing (boiled egg, juice, coffee, bread, ...) and the one staff member didn't know where to start first. Next morning was not so busy, but also then we had to wait as the one staff member was not around chatting with colleagues... So lots of waiting. For this price I'm really missing a fried or scrambled egg, some bacon, fresh orange juice, freshly cut fruit or fruit salad and a croissant on Sunday.

Calm, picturesque location. Staff were friendly and helpful food was generous and excellent. Stunning walks and views everywhere.

Nothing to dislike, but heads up to average size people the bedroom and bathroom are bijou.

    Pretty on the outside.

It was full of bugs on the inside. My breakfast included price was lost in the reservation process. They refused to accommodate.
