The hotel had a lot of character and the people running it were great, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It is across from the train station so it is very easy to get into town and leave the car at the hotel. It also has a great, but expensive, restaurant for dinner.The breakfast was done by the hostess and was very good. Definitely worth doing.

The soundproofing could use some work. Maybe better windows. The noise inside was ok and expected for a character type building but the train noise went all night.

Unique 500 year old house coverted into a hotel with great history. Comfortable, clean, with new bathrooms, great amenities but yet spirit of an a historical building

Room was rather hot with no air conditioning. Restaurant and prices were quite "special occasion" so perhaps not ideal for longer stays. Fantastic food, wine & service though.

Fabulous breakfast, Alicia was superb and very charming facility. Restaurant also excellent, top rate cook!

Unfortunately some issue with the payment - they charged us twice. They resolved it after 1 mail exchange and wired back the money - however, not ideal.

The service and presentation of our breakfast was first class; good continental breakfast.Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful.One could not fault the overall cleanliness of our room.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

Good sized, charming room with modern bathroom.- Good location with a train station across the street. It costs 2€ per person to get into town. The train ride is around 15 minutes and trains go regularly, also during the week and in the evening.- Parking is right outside. There are plenty of parking spots. - The couple running the place is lovely. - The breakfast was great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy.- There is a supermarket down the street.

The whole building is authentic and characterful. Such a change from the modern hotels. The location was ideal for us because we didn't want to drive into Bilbao. It is right by the motorway but the train station was just 50 yards away! Parking in any Spanish city is a nightmare and expensive. The food was excellent and the staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive.

Nothing to dislike

Room was very comfortable. Restaurant was exceptional. Some pricey options but excellent quality. Beautiful house over all and the staff were unbelievably friendly and a pleasure to meet. Very safe car park which was important to us with bikes and a full car as we were about to take the ferry.

Very old historical building with lots of charm. The owner is grandson of famous basque football player of pre civil war time . Great service . Excellent dinners and proximity to the train station with 15 min ride to Bilbao.

Be aware that rooms do not have air con . Opening the window does not work very good because of the street noise and insects . Had some issues with sleep .

Very friendly staff. New and big rooms. Good facilities. Amazing and high quality breakfast. The best croissants I ever had!

Could be nice if the farm made cider were available on the property

The hotel is beautifully decorated in keeping with its age. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless. Staff could not have been nicer

The hotel had no air conditioning which we felt for the price we paid should have been a given. We felt generally it was over priced.

Very warm welcome from the host Maria. Property located in a good redwood area. Bed very comfortable, probably the best during our 3 week holiday. Hotel came with a good food review but unfortunately the kitchen was closed on the day we arrived. (Monday)

Our room was facing the road and unfortunately the road noise was spoilt our stay not to mention our sleep. Awoken at 5am by a passing train followed by steady commuter traffic. Even with the window closed the noise was still too much. On investigation it turned out that the rubber seals were missing and would be a cheap fix. Would stay again but not in this room.

Interesting history of house and its family explained by excellent host . Good parking . Just an overnight stay so didn’t get chance to explore Bilbao but had good train links to centre.

Restaurant not open on night I was there and local area not blessed with places to eat

It was wonderful to be served a yummy breakfast. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful old chalet, family run hotel. Train station just across road so getting into Bilbao was an easy option. Walk to local shop and restaurants within 10 mins. Bedroom got a bit hot during the night but air conditioning being installed.

Nothing to dislike. If you like quirky old (but well maintained and clean places) this is for you.

The location is fine but a bit difficult to find. As we were rushing for the Ferry we had to rush breakfast. This is a quirky little hotel that is very good in a country house style.

Excellent restaurant a fantastic food and wine. Rooms a great size and very clean. Large towels

We have stayed befoe, wonderful place to explore Bilbao from, good train connection, excelent on site restaurant and good value for money
