Located in the heart of Eichstadt, this tavern type lodging offers a unique experience of staying in a German style inn. The restaurant downstairs is lively and offers a wide selection of Bavarian cuisine; the staff is nice and the breakfast included in the price of the stay.

There was no cell service in the room (not wifi - which is not applicable in this situation); the room was rather cold, most of the appliance, the rooms looked more darker and less nice than in the picture.

Warm, comfortable room, close to town centre, good breakfast, good reasonably priced evening meal, restaurant was very busy with the locals at lunch and dinner time so having a booking is necessary. English spoken by many of the staff which was very much appreciated.

Even though I was aware that there was no lift I found the number of stairs and steepness quite a challenge. Parking can be a problem as the parking is only available from 4pm until 10am and there are very few parking spots. There’s an unsecured parking area about 4 minutes walk away. The hotel will provide a parking card on request if early arrival.

The hotel is small, with a restaurant on the ground floor. The room was small, but included all you need. However, a small table and chair would have been useful. The room was clean on arrival and the personal was very helpful with some small issues I had during the stay. The breakfast is ok, not very much to choose, but good quality.

The hotel is situated on a busy road, which should not be an issue. However, there is some kind of bump in the road just in front of the hotel and every time a car would pass by, there was a pretty loud noise that would wake me up during the night. The noise was also heard by some colleagues that were staying in a different hotel on the other side of the road. Within the hotel there is a ventilation system that turns on every time somebody switches on the light in the bathroom. The noise of the central ventilation system could be heard from my room, which was not really pleasant.

Good location in the town center and the helpful personnel. Pets allowed and good breakfast.

Very noisy as the windows faced the street. Until 00:00 there is noise from restaurant visitors, in the morning there is noise from cars driving on the paving stones. I couldn't close the window because it was very stuffy (poor ventilation). Wi-Fi didn't work. The beds were not fixed to the floor and moved around.

I had a lovely stay here. Everyone was kind and helpful. Do try the restaurant. It has a great menu of Bavarian favourites. The room was spacious and it was super easy to get to the museums and fossil sites from the hotel. Can definitely recommend.
