    Pros +

    • The location of the property is amazing. It’s is walking distance from the bus stop and Sassnitz Banhnof. It is possible to take a quick bus ride to Königsstuhl from right outside the hotel, which is the starting point of the chalk cliff hikes. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful.
    • It was very close to the national park, parking lot, and clean rooms
    • Nice clean and bright rooms in brand new condition. Walking distance to train station and buses if you want to get to the ferry.

    Cons -

    • Although the breakfast was nice, it would have been good see more vegetarian and warm options
    • Very simple hotel, NO AC, there’s no reception during the night, small rooms.
    • Despite its many rooms half of which were certainly not occupied, they gave me a room with a view on a construction site (see photo), the room itself being basic : the other twin bed (I was alone) completely bare (see photo) so it didn’t look nice at all and there was no kettle with some coffee or tea bags as in all the other hotels I stayed in the region (Stralsund, Binz). The room walls were thin so I could hear the person talk on the phone in the next room and finally, the reception staff were mostly young and inexperienced, one of them even giving me a wrong information on the location and distance of the tourist office. In short, a very bad quality-price ratio!

Great! The room is very clean, cozy, and modern with a touch of vintage charm, like the plugs and lamp :) Breakfast is also great with a lot of varieties, you get to enjoy it in a beautiful dining room with a sea view!

    The breakfast (only)

I liked the breakfast and the comfy stay near the Port added value. Somehow could not get an accomodation on upper floor for scenic view but still it was a great stay. Thanks Team Kurhotel

The breakfast was delicious, The hotel was very cosy and the vicinity of the spiral footbridge to the harbour is superb.

It was a general feelling that the local people are not generally warm anf friendly - they are very closed and almost completely refusing to speak English - or at least to try. And when one tries to speak German, they are not really helpful to answer slowly. We did not feel to be really welcome asi if the local people would like to keep the whole Rügen for themselves (Germans).

I liked the hotel itself - the room was large and comfortable, one window overlooked the sea, the other the nearest street. Huge bathroom with everything you need. In principle, the room is very spacious, it was comfortable and cozy. There are various restaurants and shops nearby. Convenient parking for hotel visitors. There is a descent to the pier nearby, you can walk along the sea, or you can walk to picturesque places in the forest near the sea (20 minutes walk).

It's hard to say that there was something I didn't like. Everything was great, no surprises. The only thing was that the Wi-Fi wasn't that fast on the first day, but that's not critical.

Central location in town, close to the national park and restaurants. Nice, historic building, parking (extra charge) Euro) available. Very good breakfast! Good restaurant on site.

Very basic room. The place is quite simple and dated. Parking charge quite steep (20 euro per night?)

Excellent ambience with ship models and oil paintings everywhere, wonderful view of the Baltic sea from the breakfast room, nice and quiet places for working, central location in Sassnitz

    10UwePosted on: 2-10-2025

Hotel has a nice ambience, including beautiful oil paintings and ship models. Plenty of space for work and casual meetings outside your hotel room. Perfect for small relaxation while one still has some work to finish. Wifi is available in all places.

Check in was very fast and efficient, it's what you need if you have been travelling all day, Staff at the hotel were very professional and friendly, we were going to extend our stay but unfortunately had to travel home due to previous commitments. The hotel facilities are very good and extremely clean. (spotless!) the breakfast was made up of very high quality products and we could not fault it.There was a small issue that was quickly resolved, initially talked to the lovely receptionist who then called the hotel managers who responded quickly and were very professional and courteous.I will say that there's a certain percentage of working personnel staying at the hotel who service the local windfarms and associated industries, they are usually out of the hotel very early in the morning and return early evening after their shifts, they also have the odd weather day where they are in the hotel standing by due to adverse weather conditions offshore.I am used to this as I work offshore too so it doesn't bother me, this doesn't take anything away from the great service and hotel facilities, most hotels in the area do have a percentage of working personnel staying as Sassnitz/Mukran is after all a busy sea port.

The hotel carpark should be free to paying customers or added to the room tariff when initially booking, sending an email after you have booked and paid informing you that parking is available if you reserve a space now "we can offer you the parking space today for €14.50 euros per night - instead of €20.00 euros if you reserve a space now is quite simply ridiculous, especially when you arrive to find 2 huge carparks virtually empty. The vast majority of hotels offer free parking to customers as standard practice and is in my opinion the best way to be, having said that we did park on the street and at the back of the hotel near the loading bay but there are very few spaces.Summertime would be very different as Sassnitz is a very busy holiday destination so parking could be a struggle.

    The parking lot was expensive….

We arrived very late so we did not meet any staff. Key was arranged to a nearby hotel. When we found the room, place is huge it was clean and nice.

No night reception made it complicated.

    Very poor

The structure was not finished and there was a lot of powder in the rooms and corridors, because of the work done in the building. Very unhealthy situation. The staff did not even mention this situation or offered any discount for the inconvenience. We stayed for the night and left as soon as possible.Last but not least, Sassnitz is a bit depressing, not a place where to stay on vacation for a few days.
