- The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was also excellent, and a lovely breakfast buffet was provided each morning.
- Great location. Time at Oma’s was a highlight - don’t miss this opportunity. Excellent storage for our bikes. Tangermunde is a lovely small town to explore.
- My room had a very nice view, and a comfortable chair by the window
Cons -
- The standard rooms can feel a bit small.
- It was 39 steps up to my room, which I was not expecting...
- no power outlets at the table in my room (90).

central.. clean. nice staff.. great breakfast.
no power outlets at the table in my room (90).
Right in the historic town centre. Great breakfast.
It would be great to have a small water kettle in the room. It wasn't a problem though as there is hot water in the main house.
Great locationVery nice and helpful staffQuirky and unusual room decor
Maybe just some more practical touches added to the room to make our stay more comfortable, but this isn't a criticism
Staff, breakfast, room location
Good clean room. Great breakfast. Good shower. Central.
WiFi was intermittently poor.
The breakfest
The pictures are deceiving, we did not stay in the building which could be found in the reservation
The town of Tangermunde is very interesting architecture and very easy to walk. Lovely views of Elbe River.
There is a bait and switch happening here. They romanticize theme rooms and show pictures of the lovely main hotel building. When checking in the tell you you are in the "Annex" an older, not updated,, very basic maybe 2 star property not the 3 star they advertise. They two properties should be separated on Booking.com.
Simple, clean and functional rooms. Great central location. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Their St Nikolai pub down the road is very atmospheric and also has lovely staff.
Being charged1,50 for extra bread when my microwaved garlic soup came with one miserable slice.... They've changed their menus ? No more monster sized chicken liver feasts.
Stayed in long hall opposite main hotelRoom large with opening windows Simple furnishings but everything worked well and it was comfortableBike storageLocation great for old town and river walk
Although breakfast was good (probably too many options), a bottle neck if people trying to access food was a problem. The cold counter was behind cabinets that were too small for the food. You needed to hold your plate, open and hold the flap and then somehow get your food ?HE WORST ASPECT WAS ALMOST OVERFLOWING ASHTRAYS ON EVERY OUTDOOR TABLE OF THE CAFE AND INNER COURTYARD IF THE LONG HALLNOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION AT CHECKIN OR WHEN TRYING TO ENJOY A DRINK
I liked the theme of the hotel and the humour in the fit out.
Breakfast was a bit shambolic. You are allocated a time, but the real problem isn't the number of people but the way that everyone is funnelled into a very small space to serve themselves. So there was lots of standing and waiting, but at the same time there were lots of empty tables. A re-think in terms of the serving area would leave a much better last impression.
fantastic little town, very central location
my room was very small and dark, little ventilation
This was a pleasant place but did not have an elevator. The church bells across the street rang every hour. If you can't sleep through them ask for a room at the back.
No elevator
Very interesting and amazing theme with every room being different. All of the staff was very friendly and their restaurant next to the hotel was great.
Friendly place in center of town.Superb breakfastClean and modern rooms
Fixed time-slots for breakfast
The rooms were so interesting and different. The staff and breakfast were exceptional
Would have loved a coffee station in room
Breakfast was excellent, staff was nice and the rooms were clean and decoraties in a surprising way.
It was very hot in the room, causes by a heat wave.
The breakfast, in its very quirky surroundings, was excellent with a very large choice of things to eat and drink. We had an enjoyable chat with “Oma” who told us lots about the history of “The old school” restaurant, Exempel Gaststuben.
It would have been advisable to book a place to park in advance ,as this was full when we arrived and we had to park the car some way away
