Pros +
- The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean. The saunas are nice and the outdoor swimming pool is pleasant.
- Friendly staff Clean roomDinner was good
- We stayed at the Hotel Diehlberg for two nights, in a room that was absolutely massive! We had so much space, which was incredible. The hotel is well located (10 minutes walk from Sondern train station, from where you can easily access larger towns). The beds were really comfortable and the swimming pool was lovely too.
Cons -
- Since we were here during the off-season, services appeared to be reduced to certain basics (eg. only a buffet available for dinner which was also pretty expensive for what you got, spa not open all day, breakfast buffet pretty basic)
- The breakfast was a big disappointment - we travelled around Germany for 10 days and the breakfast at this hotel was easily the worst. There are just two hot options (eggs/ sausages), the pastries were stale and although they offer a huge Nutella dispenser, there is nothing apart from bread to put it on! They definitely need to up their game with breakfast as other hotels offer way more hot options (bacon/ potatoes/ mushrooms/ beans/ tomatoes etc) as well as pancakes/ waffles/ pain au chocolat/ lots of choice of fresh fruit - Hotel Diehlberg has none of this.A kettle in the room for making hot drinks would also have been nice.
- For guest the restaurant was not accessible, was sold out!!!

Would not stay again, room was older for the price.
For guest the restaurant was not accessible, was sold out!!!
the place by the lake is beautiful. bathroom large and clean. Possibility to stay overnight with a dog thanks to a huge pleat.
I know it's a German-speaking country, but when it says that the service is in English... Unfortunately, I found German-speaking service. The included breakfast was super tasty. waiting for a table to become available is no longer necessary (10 minutes of waiting). with this standard of the hotel, I think there should be more places to dine. There were some insects flying in the room and it was cold.
We enjoyed our experience - top mentiones would be : Great poolWide choice of saunasVery tasty and fulfilling breakfastExtremely comfortable bedWarm and welcoming staff members
During our stay the one and only thing we disliked was the smell in our room and most likely in all of the rooms it's the same. As cleaning company uses one of those cleaning supplies which reminds a smell of mold. But no mold was found in the room.
The Gym/ games room spa and pool were amazing and so clean. The hotel in general was really well maintained and everything looked brand new. The Bed was extremely comfortable and larger than a standard Uk double. The Breakfast had a lot of variety and was very nice in a relaxing atmosphere. The staff where very friendly. The location was really good and within walking distance of the lake.
The room view was terrible of a roof rather than than as advertised. We did not complain on the visit as the hotel was fully booked and we could see that the chances of get another room with a balcony was slim. The room with a garden view was more like a carpark and a roof. Initially, we thought we had been moved to a larger room as it was two separate bedrooms but then realised after a few days that this was standard. Having said this, I am not sure whether this is the description that the hotel provided or Booking.com.
The hotel is located on a hill overlooking Biggesee, the views can't be better. It's isolated so tranquility is guaranteed. Breakfast was varied and abundant, some outdoor seating is also available to enjoy the morning sun. The pool area is great to spend the time reading while sunbathing. They organize events that include barbecue, sadly we didn't know in advance and it was fully booked during our stay.
The room had a light humidity smell, we think it could have been caused by the high temperatures and rains of the previous days.
The location, the staff, dog friendly hotel, for us : perfect ?
Overall, our stay was pleasant. Although we were travelling for business purpose, it is also a nice location for leisure. The Hotel is near Bigge lake, surrounded by greenery, a good location for water sports, hiking, running, etc.Rooms were clean, personnel ok, breakfast standard.
I felt the price was a bit overvalued.Temperature inside the room was rather chilly on the first night, there is no minibar and no slippers.
Our room was spacious and clean. The food was good. Staff were very friendly.
The outdoor swimming pool was not heated as advertised on Booking.com. It was very cold and we couldn't use it at all.Our room was also not heated well.Food at the restaurant was finishing quickly.
Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, walking distance to village, train station, lake, starting point for boat trips on the lake.
Tips to improve the satisfaction: more choice for dinner, for example fish. The room was quite warm (but heating was off - curious what the source of the heat was), with an open window this was good to manage.Hotel has three charging stations for electric cars: two for Tesla, one for non-Tesla, the latter one however did not work, something like: not all cars are accepted?? Luckily on the other end of the village were two charging stations (20 minutes of walking…)
the spa, sauna, wellness, the pool, the bar, the bed and the delicious breakfast
no mini fridge and no air conditioning in the room;some hotel staffs were not so friendly!on our last night, my boyfriend wanted to get some drinks at the bar and the lady at the reception didn’t want to help him; she even said that there were no drinks anymore.. instead of being happy to serve their guests, she just felt like nope, not tonight.
Rooms were good size,Shower - water pressure could be better.Otherwise very good
Staff seemed to be experienced/overworked.
Good breakfast, very clean structure, very kind personal and beautiful warm swimming pool
The wellness facilities are great. Beaware about Sauna timings(16-21).
Wonderful place in a great location. We were especially lucky with some beautiful snow.
The location
The receptionist on arrival was terrible.
