Cons -
- Building works noise early

- my only criticism is the double bed was made up of 2 single beds pushed together which was slightly uneven, but as a single traveller it wasn't a major issue.

We had a lovely stay in a very spacious room that is very clean and luxirious. The kids loved it as well and there was nothing that could break easily, so I could relax. We will make sure to visit again.
All in all a great hotel. Gar exceeded my expectations.
The eggs were ice cold at breakfast, mis communication about the bar / restaurant bill
honestly the hotel exceeded my expectations. room was comfy, had everything you need and more. own patio which was enjoyable to sit outside and have a coffee.
my only criticism is the double bed was made up of 2 single beds pushed together which was slightly uneven, but as a single traveller it wasn't a major issue.
Nice building, perfect location, friendly staff. They even decorated the room for my partners birthday, a very pleasant surprise
All was good
Very cute decoration, the restaurant downstairs, Leonardo, is amazing…
Confusing entry, check in place…nothing important
Morden and old fashion rooms and buildings good locations nd staff and food exceptional
Easy to reach, on site parking, airco quite powerful, the room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. There was a small balcony adjacent to the room, no view though, but good if you want to have a smoke. Large tv screen, bedroom also spacious and clean. Very modern facility. Breakfast more expensive then average, but very good, both the diversity and quality. Staff very friendly.
Soundproofing isn't great: could hear bed squeaking in other room and people sneezing. Tourist tax wasn't included in booking.com price. The restaurant and breakfast are also very popular with locals: can get crowded and noisy, even breakfast.
We know Pucinni which is always superb, breakfast was great and very friendly staff
not sure haha
The location is excellent, close to lovely walking routes and shopping centres, outlet shopping village and lots of restaurants. Including two within the hotel grounds, Puccini & Leonardo. The rooms are very spacious and you can find all you need for your stay including a coffee machine and kettle for teas.
The pillows were not very comfortable (they were hard) and there was no air-conditioning in the old part of the building. Since the temperature was extraordinary this summer they brought us a portable a/c which did help but was too noisy to sleep. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel since it was very costly at €22 per person!
Very well reachable with the car, and has a spacious outdoor parking.Friendly staff. The room was modern and stylish, inviting to have a romantic evening / night. The room was very clean and had a nice bed, the bathroom had a big bath tub and a big, comfortable walk-in shower. The bar/restaurant Puccini seems to have some great cocktails, I really enjoyed the Mai Tai.There are actually 2 restaurants but we did not eat there. The breakfast was tasty. I specifically liked the carrot and apple cake.At approximately 10 minute driving distance of the parking of Terhills / Elaisa wellness where we spent the day.It was raining the day we left and the staff was so friendly to suggest us to use the hotel's umbrellas while bringing luggage to the car.
The poster with the nearby cycling routes that was hanging against the wall next to the bed felt a bit 'off' though, a stylistic departure. There was a separate small room with the toilet, however to wash your hands you had to use the sink in the bathroom. As we were there just as a couple with 2, that didn't matter, however it might be not very handy if you are with 3 (the couch could be used as a sleeping couch).
It's a lovely hotel with nice gardens. Big generous rooms nicely furnished
We were awakened by fighting somewhere in the hotel either the hall or nearby plus several very loud and frightening bangs which sounded like furniture falling over. It stopped after a while. We reported next morning on check out and asked if any compensation as had not been able to sleep. As we'd already paid was told no which is ridiculous. We've since been offered 50% off next stay but wouldn't go back there. It's a beautiful hotel and wasn't their fault and apparently we should have reported at 3am .to be honest when you're scared you don't think straight. Had it continued would have called police
Very friendly staff. Excellent location. We had an extra bed for our child and it was perfect. We didn’t need to get an extra room.
The breakfast was excellent , that was the only thing perfect with this hotel
we stayed in a side part of the hotel, an old building with unpainted floors. NO airconditionvery poor decorated and the most irritatting wasthe light from the bathroom turns of automatically but veryshortly when you are in the bathroom. The entrance is with a high stoop . Very difficult for people who can not walk
Fantastic stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Porta Cite. The room was clean, large, excellent facilities, the restaurant food was delicious, and the staff helped me organise the taxi with no trouble. I enjoyed my stay so much that I came back a second time to stay. The proximity to Elaisa Wellness is also great, which is why I stayed both times.
nice big room with 3 separate bedsvery good restaurant in the hotel
noice/very loud music until long after midnight
The hotel is nicely situated in the center of Maasmechelen, offering the convenience of free parking. We appreciated the cleanliness of our room and the welcoming nature of the staff.
Our stay was compromised by a couple of issues. Firstly, the quality of sleep was severely impacted due to two main factors: the overly soft mattress, which is subjective to personal preference, and the lack of adequate soundproofing. Despite the room being recently updated, it was surprising to find that the sound insulation was practically non-existent. We were able to hear every noise from the street and adjacent rooms, and even with earplugs, the street noise was inescapable.Additionally, our breakfast experience did not meet expectations. Although we had confirmed in advance the availability of breakfast at 7 AM due to an early appointment, it was disappointing to find that several items, including pancakes and eggs, were not ready until 7:20 AM. This delay suggests that while the kitchen operations may begin at 7, they are not prepared to serve a complete breakfast at that time. Furthermore, the bread served appeared to be stale.
Big and clean room for the 3 of us. Good location close to many shops and nature parks
