About

Enjoy a break in the Andalusian countryside with a stay at this rural holiday complex, which comes complete with outdoor swimming pools and views over the surrounding landscape. The Nazaret de Moguer is located at about 15-20 minute drive from the beaches of Mazagón in the countryside outside Huelva. Its facilities allow you to take advantage of the Andalusian sunshine – swim in the outdoor pool as children play in the on-site playground. Inside the charming property you will find decor themed on the Nobel Prize-winning poet, Juan Ramon Jiménez. Take a visit to the marvelous natural scenery of the Doñana National Park, just a 45-minute drive away. You can also easily head over the border into Portugal. After a day in the fresh air, enjoy a hearty meal in the on-site restaurant. This unique venue specializes in dishes from the nearby mountains and sea.

    Pros +

    • Unknown to us, this is actually a historic house owned once by a Nobel prize winning author. Memorabilia abound. We arrived much earlier than check in time but were happily accommodated enabling us to get on with our day. When we entered the room, we thought we'd been given the bridal suite (see photo). Such a lovely welcome! Location was perfect for combining the Columbus Trail, El Rocio and trips to Coto Donana national park (or the beach had it been in season). The pool looked inviting too but was obviously closed in March! A lively snack bar used extensively by the locals and an elegantly decorated formal dining room with fabulous views were both excellent options for an evening meal. The free breakfast was tasty and generous. Moguer, an attractive white town, was nearby with more eating options but we were too tired to investigate those, especially since parking seemed a nightmare, whereas the hotel had a huge parking lot. Despite the renowned tapas bars which we sampled in Huelva, I am sure this was a much better option for accommodation.
    • Room was large, comfortable and very clean.
    • Quiet situated hotel. Big room with comfortable beds. Very good breakfast with cerials, yoghurt, eggs, toast, fruit and lots of cakes. Nice staff.

    Cons -

    • Despite its designation as a rural location (perhaps because of the trees surrounding two sides and the dirt road leading to it), it's actually at the back of an industrial estate - very much the norm in this part of Spain, which is also marred by acres of plastic greenhouses and the most disastrously pot-holed roads I've experienced. None of this is the fault of the hotel but be warned.
    • There were lots of bugs and ants in the bathroom.
    • WFI in the Rooms far away from Rezeption is Not Working because the Rooter is Not Strong Inaff there. If you Need WFI take Rooms Near the Rezeption

Quiet location out of town- flat, large car park, great staff, very clean. Good value and well worth a look.

The patio and view were wonderful.

The bed was hard. The coffee maker didn’t work right and housekeeping didn’t know how it worked and did not replace it with one that did. When a found a bug in my top sheet, was told, “we are in the country “.

Huge and spacious rooms. Water pressure excellent. Interior well cleaned. Due to delayed arrival key was put in a key locker for efficient late arrival. Kind staff. Buffet breakfast inside or terrace (dog). Coming back!

This was a perfect location for an overnight stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Each room had air conditioning. There was also a mini fridge and coffee machine for convenience. There was plenty of free parking on site. For convenience, there was a restaurant on site and the breakfast was included. There was a pool on site.

There was no clear breakfast menu nor was anything really available to eat when we turned up in the morning but not really an issue for us.

The room was exceptional! Beautiful and perfectly clean. The staff were very friendly and our dog Leo, who is not accustomed to travelling, was made very welcome!

    Nothing. Everything was great.

    6DanielPosted on: 6-16-2024

    There was a private terrace.

Big horrible ants in the room!A loud and noisy child event with hundreds of childs took place in the morning in a part of the building.

a wonderful place, warm and cosy. The people are very friendly and the food is excellent. It is not a touristy place, you can feel the atmosphere of local people, which is fantastic!

the rooms are a bit outdated, it could definitely be mdoernized or improved. Although it still fits in with the environment.

spacious room & air conditioning & fridge & balcony, no noise at night, with a big pool area in complex :) Very good breakfast! Very good located near Huelva if you use ferry to Canary Islands

Loved the amazing pool it was so big and the rural setting was great. Loved the friendly staff and the excellent value for money. Loved the huge room and the lovely outside patio which was great for seeing the super moon. Loved exploring the area and all the Christopher Columbus history in the area. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing really - just be careful on the road into the property as it is very bumpy! Put Calle A on your satnav/Google maps as will bring you to the right place.

    Location. Helpful staff

Restaurant closed in the evening. Our fault for not realising. However, very helpful staff assembled a lovely room buffet for us at a moment's notice.
