Hotel Sonar Bangla Kolaghat

Large room, Wifi was excellent. Beautiful property.

Breakfast was mediocre. Not ready at scheduled time. Waiter service at breakfast was zero. Room was dusty and noisy. Repeated phone calls from hotel for feedback on the first night of our stay was very annoying.

Very good location just beside the river. The room and linen were decent and clean. The buffet breakfast had sufficient varieties. Check-in and check-out were smooth, hassle-free. All calls were answered very promptly by the housekeeping staff.

The preparation of ala carte orders were not upto the mark and needs improvement.

Very good location. Huge campus. Nice premium rooms, secure.

Cooking. Mutton kossa, Ilish preparations were very substandard. Those items r every household daily cooking almost in bengal….but were very substandard at HSB. And very expensive kitchen against very substandard cooking.

At Hotel Sonar Bangla Kolaghat, a simple Bisleri water bottle that costs ₹20 is priced at ₹116, making it a smart choice to carry your own water to avoid unnecessary expenses.Since it was my husband’s birthday, I had made a special request both on Booking.com and directly at the hotel for a complimentary birthday cake and little decoration in our room to surprise him. However, room decoration was out of question. Hotel Sonar Bangla Kolaghat charged us ₹900 without prior notice or approval. They should have clearly communicated the cost beforehand instead of surprising us with unexpected charges on the bill.

Location and layout of the property was good.

Food quality, especially for the prize, has a lot of scope for improvement. Need to benchmark with some good resorts and upgrade facilities, cleanliness, food, and service.

The Buffet breakfast spread had quite a good variety . They were fresh and tasty . The location and ambiance is very good.

if there could be some welcome drink added at the reception during the checkin. Also the checkin time shown in Booking.com and when we reach the hotel was not in sync.

extremely high price ..extremely dirty in the swimming pool..we told them for several times to clean the pool but they didn’t..room quality is average..there is no privacy in rooms balcony..extremely disappointing from sonar bangla..highly recommended to everyone not to waste money in sonar bangla

Dear Sonar Bangla,                        It was a nice stay with Hotel Sonar Bangla. But I want to mention some points which I faced during the stay.The property is now under maintenance.Resturant is not ready and we had to take food at our room. This is not expected and not hygienic in my point of view.   Food quality is really average.  For example the evening snacks was too salty to eat.Apart from this we have enjoyed the moments.Thanks ?

Not at all! Didn't meet our expectation

Renovation work is going! So dusty! All rooms are not good enough for river view. Overall non satisfying!

Rooms were well maintained,but restaurant service was poor as half of the basic food ordered they denied , as they were very rigid on food delivery and on scheduled timing and was not flexible enough, as we have gone for holiday such rigid measures doesn't apply for any tourist.We also had to follow up on tv repair several times till it happened.

Breakfast was good. But the other properties of Sonar Bangla serves better breakfast spread. The food taste was good. The location near the river was good.

Ongoing construction activities within the premises was creating a number of problems such as 1. Dust2. Noise3. Blocking the beauty

Food quality very bad. And food selection also not good. Need to update menu items as well as,need cooking training for kitchen chef.

Food quality is very very average, Price is bit on higher side as compared to Quality, Bathrooms are need to be more comfortable and well Furnished.

Room light is too poor, so authority arrenge a seperate extra light for us. Overflow toilet water out side the toilet after bath. Instead of good house keeping service it was irritating. And need a besin inside the toilet.

The staff did not come to pickup the plates. The plates were there until the next day until we checked out. The hotel charged cgst and sgst on packaged drinking water of total 80 RS which has MRP of 30 RS only. I am filing a lawsuit against this improper billing.
