• The staff is very kind and helpful. English works, so Russian. The location in this living mediaeval museum is wonderful. On an earlier visit we stayed just outside the city walls, this time we enjoyed life inside them. The hotel taxi transfer from Urgench worked perfectly, at a reaonable price. This accommodation, like all others, duly obtained our passport information (photos, copies) for official registration. This hotel was one of the 2 out of 7 hotels that offered us registration slips. They are now demanded (a) for subsequent hotel stays, and (b) by the Immigration upon leaving the country. This seems to be new regulations, which hotels seem not to be fully aware of, and/or take seriously. Upon our departure three Immigration officers had lenghty discussions whether to let us out of the country with the two slips we had without fining us some indefinite sum "for loosing the slips" which we objected strongly to because nobody had explained the issue to us, and most hotels ignored this (new) requirement. Receptionists should explain the importance of these slips to their guests and make the slips ready as a matter of course upon departure. Credits to this accommodation for their attention to this imprtant detail, too.
