The breakfast was not the best
Very nice location on the beachGood facilities, nice rooms and helpful staff.
The location is excellent
The room furniture is so.old.The chalet I booked in one of the rooms doors was almost open to the next chalet. There is no chef in the hotel. Most of the breakfast is from the local shop snacks. Only eggs were made in the hotel.Kitchen light was not working. It took hours till it got fixed. The rate is so high compared with the facilities available.
The staff were very tactful and kind
Everything was good but I think some renovations should be conducted especially in furniture
Location only
The hotel was overpriced, featuring outdated furniture, and the breakfast options were quite limited. Additionally, the air conditioning would occasionally shut down.
The property as they say was the best in the island. This was our second stay with the resort and we’ve seen the improvement somehow with what it has to offer.
It may seem a bit too costly for a chalet that needs some updating. They have maintained the hotel but some small details need to be looked upon. Another small setback was the treatment of the local staff upon arrival. Omanis are known to be among the most hospitable in the region, for some reason we felt that guy fell short of it.
Breakfast, building and stuff
Price and pillows were too high
Nothing really the hotel need renovation
Wash room toilet is very old not clean lights in the rooms is little. The facility is very old
The staff member who is the turtle expert is fantastic. Interesting displays about local wildlife in the lobby. Our waiter for dinner (from Bangladesh) was wonderful.
Seems like this was a nice resort 20 years ago, but it is in need of updates. Rooms are clean enough but basic and dilapidated. Very overpriced for what it is, and the location far from everything else (restaurants, etc.). Hotel restaurant was mediocre and overpriced. We only stayed one night to make sure it was okay (a good plan in Oman), and then switched to Hotel Danat Al Khaleej, which was a fraction of the price and not much of a downgrade. We stayed at Masirah Resort because our guidebook said turtles nested on the beach behind the hotel - this is not the case. They nest at Biyad Beach, 15 minutes south. The beach right behind the resort is mind-boggling - absolutely covered with trash which is shocking for a "resort" beach. Biyad Beach, home to the most loggerhead turtles in the world is also covered in trash. Locals drive on the beach and leave more litter. No trash cans, seemingly no attempt to clean up the trash or deter littering. Quite a contrast to the sustainability literature in the rooms about saving water, etc. - a total joke! Heart-breaking considering the amazing wildlife here. Like the beaches, this resort has great potential but needs to put in serious effort.
Good resort option on the island with a nice pool. Directly next to a famous shipwreck on the beach which is cool for photos. Wifi was good in our room at 20 mbps. Staff very kind and helpful.
Hotel felt older than expected. Gym was disappointing. I didn't love driving to town to get dinner every time, so I'd probably seek out a guesthouse there on a return visit. But this is good if you prefer to have a pool available. Just a bit expensive for the value.
Great location on the east coast, really nice pool and a long beach as far as you can see left and rightI have a few negatives points, I hope constructive, but overall a pleasant stay and I especially enjoyed sitting at the beach watching the sunrise.
Had to wait 2 or 3 minutes before anyone came to reception and then had to carry bags inside ourselves.Flies as we had a drink at sunset were a real pain. This needs to be managed.Annoyance that an adjoining door to the room next door in the chalet was poorly sealed so ai heard everything going on next door....
The hotel has very good information materials about the island. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The location on the island is good, very quiet and in driving distance to town.
The hotel might need a bit of a makeover. The room smelled intensely like smoke, in particular when the A/C was on, but also through the bathroom. The breakfast was underwhelming. Overall, the value for money ratio was not ideal.
Swimming pool, beautiful location next to the sea and staff are very friendly.
Location, food, helpful staff, comfortable beds
Bathroom heater should be checked as the water from the hot outlet is not fully clear.
Masirah Island Resort is in the best location of any hotel on the island (there aren't many to choose from). It's quite small, well layed out with all rooms facing the pool and sea, my 3rd time staying there and I will be going back next time I go to Masirah.
- good location in front of the beach, 10min drive from the city center - big and clean room with all the facilities and direct access to the swimming pool- big and clean swimming pool- friendly and professional staff- rich and tasty breakfast
