Pros +
- - The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, which is perfect for a relaxing getaway.- The spa center is well-equipped, offering a variety of treatments and several sauna rooms. (We did not try any of the treatments, so we can’t comment on their quality.)
- We felt like millionaires in this hotel. You get way more than you pay for. The views and nature around it are breathtaking. All of the accommodations and the food at the restaurant are classy and luxurious. The sports center makes it heaven for a sports enthusiast. Amazing brand new children’s play ground as well which makes it perfect for families with children.
- On the other hand, what we absolutely loved was the wine and the spectacular food. The chef they have is brilliant, and every meal we had was delicious. The dining experience was a highlight of our stay, and we couldn't get enough of the amazing cuisine.
Cons -
- - We stayed in one of the villa apartments on the hotel premises, and only upon arrival did we learn that access to the pool area was not included with our stay (there’s nothing else to do in the area…). This was not made clear in the Booking.com listing, and it’s a significant oversight, especially given that the spa is a major selling point. When we raised this at checkout, the receptionist’s response was dismissive. She insisted that it wasn’t their responsibility because Booking.com is a separate website and blamed us for misunderstanding. We tried to explain that they can provide clearer information on their listing, but the conversation was met with resistance and no real willingness to improve the guest experience.- Disappointing wine tour: Communication prior to our stay was in English, and we were offered two wine tour options via email (in English): one for 30 BGN and one for 40 BGN. We asked to book the 30 BGN tour, but were later told that only the 40 BGN option was available, so we agreed to that. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that the tour was conducted entirely in Bulgarian, despite all previous communication being in English and no mention of language limitations. When we raised the issue, the guide initially responded with attitude but eventually provided a basic summary in English. During our conversation afterwards, we asked what would have happened had we explicitly stated in advance that we needed an English tour. The guide said they would have split the group into two, suggesting that the 30 BGN tour was in fact possible, but simply not offered to us. This gave the impression that the more expensive option was pushed unnecessarily. The tour itself was underwhelming: two videos with no context, a brief overview of the wine-making process, and a disorganized wine tasting. Back in the lobby for the tasting, the guide spent the first 10 minutes selling wine to two guests instead of engaging the group.
- The Wi-Fi connection was not the best but we were still able to make use of it.
- We specifically booked a stay at the Midalidare Spa Hotel as we were considering it as a potential wedding venue, based on the stunning pictures and glowing marketing. However, once we arrived, we were quickly dissuaded. The cleanliness throughout the property was not up to the standard we anticipated. For instance, the showers in our room were covered in black mold, and the floors felt dirty and poorly maintained. This left a bad first impression, especially when considering it for such an important event. The spa, one of the highlights we were looking forward to, was a big letdown. It has clearly not been kept up and appears to be in disrepair. There was visible water damage on the spa roof, and to make matters worse, the spa bar was closed due to staff shortages, further diminishing the experience. In addition, the wedding offer we received from their team was underwhelming and did not match the high standards we had hoped for based on their marketing. Combined with the state of the property, we quickly decided this was not the right venue for our wedding. For the price of the rooms and how the property is portrayed online, we were left feeling disappointed. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations, and we hope the management takes steps to improve these issues soon.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. Its located in a lovely setting. The building and the interior is stunning. The facilities are modern and comfortable. The spa is great. The restaurant has amazing food and wine. The service is excellent. It’s perhaps the best hotel I’ve visited in Bulgaria.
Nice location with pool and spa
We stayed 2 separate nights on the way to Black Sea and on way back. 1st night was perfect. Booked via booking.com. Spa and breakfast etc all included. 2nd night (booked directly at hotel) was the opposite. Everything was extra cost. We had to pay for pool and spa, breakfast and access to football area - all separately. Also they forgot 1 main course in the restaurant. When we asked we were initially told the kitchen is already closing! I complained that I needed something to eat. They eventually accepted the order and took another 20-30mins to bring it. Meanwhile the rest of the family had finished everything including dessert. I was the last one restaurant!! I don’t mind forgetting, but the initial reaction to say the kitchen is closing was not good. That coupled with all the extra costs for the 2nd night made for an extremely poor experience. Shame, because 1st night was so good.
We stay 2 days just right after the weekend - we stayed at the villa and we had everything that we needed for our stay with an 1 year old baby. It was warm and clean and comfortable. The Wellness and SPA center was fully working and we were only around 8-10 people. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is great - it is very clean, the room is spacious and warm. The breakfast was okay, nothing spectacular, but it was fine. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant and of course the wine selection. The wine tour was interesting and informative. The spa zone was very nice and the personnel was polite. We will definitely visit again.
We absolutely loved our stay, but it is worth mentioning that there is not much to do in the area.
Standard of room and facilities good
Disappointed with the lack of communication from the complex, as the route from Sofia had a road closure which led to a 90km diversion, and when I got to reception to check in all they said was they thought that would have been done by now, this it totally unacceptable and soured my stay, I doubt I would use this complex again especially as there is so much more choice now
Everything is amazing interior, nature around, wonderful spa, friendly and attentive staff, restaurant is always the top and of course excellent wine
Kind and friendly staff, good facilities, service and food in the restaurant were very good.Good quality service in the SPA.
the room decoration, the park, the view from the sport center. The staff was very polite. Can recommend the relaxing massage.
silent and cosy hotelrooms clean, good facilities, very peaceful location4th time when we return here :)good option with the fitness gym
very uncomfortable mattress and pillowsvery soft and like: when you sit in them you have the feeling that you stay in the same position, you sink into them
We loved the place! It's super cosy, super clean and nice finishing, very well thought for all small details to feel comfortable! The Spa is just outstanding! I highly reccomend Midalidare Estate!
We haven't been impressed by the kitchen unfortunately. The price is high which will be OK if the quality or at least the quantity were above the average! The wine is excellent!
Amazing place! We loved everything. Huge, cosy, luxury style rooms, cleanliness, food in the restaurant, SPA. Very nice garden. Quiet, peacefull and green place. Woud love to come back here again :)
To have hot water in the showers would be perfect :))
Food, spa, staff, facility- excellent transformation with exceptional touch to detail. Food is unbelievable, wine reasonably priced against store tag! No surprise you barely find a free spot to visit!
Could present few more options for an entertainment being such a distant location, spa is nice, but table tennis, billiard, darts, playstation, anything that could give a bit more fun! Cheers and keep the good work done!
The green scenery was nice, the property itself was fairly well maintained.
No room service during the stay- no drinking water supplied in the mini bar (and the village has no shops to purchase any basic food supplies, so at least drinking water should be supplied daily), no towels in the room were replaced, one toilet roll for 4 people with two children during the entire stay, room was never cleaned for the 2 days we stayed. The spa is very basic- no refreshments such as a water fountain even in the relax area. The spa bar was seldomly serviced- often impossible to get even towels, as there was no staff. The reception and other spa staff were very kind and helpful, however it seemed that the hotel were understaffed for the number of guests present. The restaurant was ok, but the service was quite disappointing. After returning a dish with uncooked egg (poorly poached with completely raw egg white) the cook came out of the kitchen and literally yelled at us that he has the best and most expensive sous-vide equipment and implied that we just don’t know what’s a proper poached egg texture. For the record, the previous evening we ordered a t-bone steak (supposedly prepared in the same sous-vide equipment) , which was horribly overcooked, and we decided not to mention it. The wine tour was ok, but also very basic. Some very good wines, but poor presentation. If you come with children, keep in mind that you have to bring any snacks and basic supplies with you, because there is literally nothing available for purchase anywhere nearby. As this property is quite isolated and all the food and entertainment options are limited within the estate, the expectations for quality and value are higher than what is being offered. Having visited other wine spas in Bulgaria and abroad, I’d think twice about returning to this one.
Lovely place, well equipped, great pool and spa, delicious food
The food is amazing. Every dish in the menu is prepared by a very skilful chef. I haven't tasted better food in years. Their wines are a complementary to the food.
Small issues with showers, drainage, air pressure for the pool...
The winery and food. The spa is also good although some rooms are not working.
There is no other attractions near the hotel or at least not promoted from the staff.
Was traveling for the fifth time to Midalidare Hotel. as always, everything is great there ?.
